DIR-655 problems with packet loss on N...

I have tried firmware version 1.11 and version 1.21 and I have also tried making the settings default and I am still getting random packet loss on wireless N. It is fine on G though. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? I tried posting this in another forum here to no avail so I thought I would try it here. There is more info in my original post here ---> http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r23299262-Random-lag-spikes

[Help Me] DI-524 Rev. B signal lose while gaming

Router: DI-524
H/W: REV B.
Firmware: V2.03

Ok so every weekend the kids come home from school and the son uses his laptop for gaming over wireless. Once this happens all wireless signal strength goes down. It's not a matter of internet speed since downloading doesn't kill the signal. ONLY gaming takes down the signal strength when the kids are on it over the weekend.

Any ideas of fixing this? or is the router just falling flat on it's face?

I was going to flash the updated firmware but I can only do it over wireless and I am afraid that it will wipe out the PPPoE password.

Intermittant NIC connection to DSL-2540B

I bought the DSL-2540B to replace a burnt out Westell modem. I have a Dell Hybrid desktop with Vista Ultimate and a Sony Vaio with XP.
Every morning I have to try plugging the LAN cable from the Dell into each of the 4 ports on the 2540B until I get a LAN connection. I ran a diagnostic on the Dell and it reported the LAN connection had no problem. The Sony doesn't have the problem which leads me to believe it's the modem vs. the Dell. However, I did update the Dell's NIC via a Windows update and subsequently could not get a LAN connection at all. I had to Restore to the Pre-Windows Update configuration, and try all of the 2540B's LAN ports until I could get a connection.
I downloaded ta DSL-2540B firmware update but could not get it to install. I contacted D-Link support and was told the standard "firmware doesn't need to be updated unless the modem is not working."
The 2540B does have a lot of software options and settings in the menus. Are there any that might cause this type of problem? Can anyone suggest anything that might resolve this issue?

Thanks,

[Help Me] DIR-615 Wireless connections loose connection once a m

DIR-615 Router, Hardware Revision C1, Firmware 3.11NA

About once a month, the none of my wireless computer will connect to the router, the SSID is still being broadcast, and signal strength seems fine, just nothing can connect.

If I unplug the router from it's power supply for about 30 seconds, that will fix the problem.

The people at D-Link email support are trying to blame the problem on my computers, signal strength, windows firewall, and my anti-virus program.

Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions as to how to resolve it?

DIR-655 needs to be rebooted approx 1x a week-any alternate?

A customer is using DIR-655 on their DSL connection with several SIP phones and computers. Everything is great, except that about once a week they start having phone issues that get repaired with the reboot of the router. I use this router as well, and I experience similar issues with my internet lagging - also about once a week - and this is fixed by a router reboot.

Is this a known issue, and is there a fix?
Are there any other good quality QOS routers that work well with VOIP?

(note: this is a different issue than what I was previously experiencing where the router would hang under heavy load - turning off DNS relay fixed that)

Thanks!

DIR-825 over DIR-655

Would you guys recommend a DIR-825 over a DIR-655. Right now I have a Linksys wrt150n. I usually get weak signal even if the router is just on the other room. We have 3 computers in the house all of them connect on a wireless connection. The desktop computer that I'm using used to be connected directly to this modem. Now I'm using a Linksys wireless n wireless adapter to connect to the router. The other two computers are laptops and they use a wireless g adapter. I have a ps3 that connects also to the router. I noticed slowness in connection on my ps3 when the router got transferred into another room

I planned to upgrade my router last April. When Cox installed service on our house, I decided not to do so.

D-Link DAP-1522 PS3 Setup

Hey, guys.

Networking noob here.

I have a D-link g router, WBR-1310. Works great, had it for several years. It talks wirelessly to my PS3. I use Play Station Media Server, as well, but I get stuttering on some of my 720p streams when they get above 15Mbps.

If I purchase a DAP-1522 and hook it up via ethernet to my PS3, will I get an improvement even though my original router connected to my cable modem is a g model? Or do I need to swap out my original router for a new n router?

Thanks

Anyone try this firmware?

If I upgrade to this firmware and perform a crash recovery, can I load older firmware?

[Rant] No Longer Running D-Link

After months of using a half-assed 655 with no word on any upcoming fixes, I finally sold it for $90 CAD and purchased a WNDR3700 for $130.

I could not be anymore happy, the WNDR3700 is a monster, a complete beast. Everything is working now, everything is seamless, I will not pay D-Link for their fuck ups.

Netgear WNDR3700, highly recommended. Next time D-Link should think twice before locking people into broken firmwares.
