But it seems that not many people frequent that forum. :(

Have any of you run across good deals on a PS3 for Black Friday?

[360] Transferring profile/saves to a memory card

My wife has been playing Guitar Hero II on my 360 which has a hard drive. I finally picked up a second 360 (that I had to fix the RRoD problem), but don't have a hard drive for it. I want my 360 back!

Can I transfer her gamertag and GH2 game saves from the hard drive to the memory card? Or am I going to be stuck buying a second hard drive, and transferring her stuff to that drive?

International compatibility

Hey guys this may be an off-the-wall question, but do consoles have the concept of Regions like movie DVDs do? IOW if I buy a PS3 game in the UK would I have any problem playing that game on my PS3 in the U.S.? (and vice-versa, insert any country)

Actually that brings up another point: the TV standards in the various parts of the world would have to be handled by the console hardware, but is there anything at the software level (the game itself)? For example, the old NTSC vs PAL, or all the newer HD standards - do the games have to be rewritten or is that just handled at the hardware level?

[360] wireless N?

Anybody have any experience with the new adapter? My friend brought one over to try out and seemed to work OK. On xbox with g connected at 11Mbps at 35% signal strength...the xbox with the N connected at 120Mbps at 75% signal strength. Both located in the same room, pretty far away from the router.

Seems to have pretty good results so far...anyone else have anything to share?

Thinking of getting a PSP but can't decide

I am thinking of getting a PSP but can't decide. I have a iPod Classic 80gb at the moment and its battery is dieing so was thinking of getting a replacement battery pack online instead of buying a new iTouch and was thinking of picking up a PSP at the same time. So to my question which PSP system is better? There is the PSPgo and PSP system 3000. Is that Gran Tourismo bundle worth it for 200 bucks? Thanks for taking the time to read. These are always useful for the bus ride to work. iPod Touch 64gb is 400 bucks which is ALOT!

edit: it would always be riding in my pocket when not charging also btw.

[360] Modded consoles get banned as new COD ships

It was only logical for Microsoft to lay the banhammer down on modded consoles at one point, but timing is everything. Seeing as the new COD game is set to be a HUGE seller, Microsoft banned all the modded consoles they have found over the years the day before - essentially preventing those who are eager for the (hacked) game from playing it online.

The story has at least one million consoles banned.

An added bonus story is how Craigslist and eBay has been flooded with now useless modded consoles and games.

A couple clarifications. This affects the CONSOLE, not the gamertag. Buy a new console and people are free to pick up where they left off. This also doesn't "brick" the console, it only prevents online play. So it can still be used as a single player console.

I think most people who modded their consoles saw this coming.

[ps3] Firefox to be the new PS3 browser?

This would be a welcome change.

Story at - http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10401403-1.html

Rumor: Sony bringing Firefox to PS3?

We've been hoping for a while that Sony would replace the PS3's mediocre built-in Web browser with something more robust, so it's nice to hear that Sony might be in talks with Mozilla to port Firefox over to the PS3--even if it's just a rumor.

The folks at PlayStation Insider say they've "received a tip from a source very close to Sony" about possible conversations between Mozilla and Sony. No word on whether a deal is close, but having Firefox on board would put a little more wood behind the PS3's arrow in its battle against the XBox 360 and the Wii.

Do you agree?

[dsi] Nintendo - built-in memory

Question for you folks.

If photos were stored to a Nintendo DS and were inadvertently deleted.. can they be retrieved?

I know there's software out there for recovering files from cards, but not sure if possible if it's the built-in memory that stored it.

This handheld has no SD card.
