ping -n 30 to do 30 pings

[TWC] Slow Speeds and High Signal Levels

Downstream Value

Upstream Value
Channel ID	10
Frequency	33000000 Hz
Power	52.0 dBmV

The last couple of days have been really bad in regards to my speeds, and pages slowly timing out and what not.

After I had just gotten this fixed a month ago, problems are popping up again. It's NEVER been this high.

Before, they replaced the line coming into the house, and my power level was low...near 43 dB.

After, they installed something into the street, and it shot up to around 47.3.

It hasn't de-synced yet, but I'm sure that'll come shortly.

Is there a possibility there's a problem again at the line, since it was just replaced?

Any advice on what I should do?

how do extend the $29 a month promo fees?

Hey guys. Im currently using RR from TW. I am enjoying the $29 a mont promo fees but it will soon end and we will have to pay $39 a month which sucks right?

So is there a way for me to ask them to extend the fees at the current $29 a month?

also, i have a housemate, could I close my account and ask them to charge my friend's at the rate of $29 a month? is that cheating? but $40 vs $30 a month is too much

thanks

[TWC] Speed test, logging & graphing software

After moving from TWCs Turbo to Biz class and elevating the problem to the executive support level our intermittent, evening speed issues remain unresolved.

Therefore I need some software that will automatically perform a speed test at least every hour and then log the result. That way I can produce a graph that illustrates the problem over time. Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Jo

What the heck is going on in SoCal?

Every evening the same thing...download speeds drop. Of course after midnight it is better again. This is just getting real old. And they still have not patched the DNS servers.

Anyone care to speculate what the problem is here in SoCal? My 2 cents is an oversold system and traffic shaping kicking in.

[TWC] router connected, intermittent connections

said by uid://403861 :I don't understand why anyone would shut down a desktop computer if they have broadband.

►snip◄

I guess they give away electricity in Hilo for free then.
And from other comments about clients leaving their computers on all the time, maybe this is why electric rates are skyrocketing, ya know all the utilities having to buy fuel on the spot market to meet the ever increasing demand.

I live 2 blocks from the Intercoastal Waterway in Florida, while it's not a "living on the docks" type marine environment we see the effects of salt air. Not powering down your computer is a myth from back in the old days of the Seagate "Brick" 3gig hard drives. "When not in use, turn off the Juice!"
