Just when you hit bottom....

I've busted my but all summer and made good money. Unfortunately, I didn't save any instead I spent allot on my house with new water heaters, stoves, an LP gas tank (that needed to be plumbed in), some minor carpentry, and plumbing.
When work ended, I had NOTHING saved! And of course, am having a hard time with the unemployment office which has since been solved but for over a month I've had no income at all.

During the last 24 hours, I've been solicited to work at another local restaurant next year. They open March, close after Christmas. Much better then my now May to October!

And, also I have been asked to meet with someone about helping her open and run one, maybe two new restaurants!

Both of these tow possibilities I am familiar with who runs them. ANd I am very excited about the prospects they give me.

I have set up meetings with both, and am confident something will come out of them. :)

[NH] Looking to Possibly Move to NH and have some ??s

Hello everyone. I see some names that I haven't seen in the pub so I wanted to do a cross post if that is ok.

My husband is a recruiter for the Army and it is almost time for us to move. I have been checking out a few states and I think I have decided that I would like to move to New Hampshire and I have talked him into giving me first choice of state. We have to make a list of 3 places we would like to go but that doesn't guareentee that we get any of the 3 but so far out of the 2 moves we have had to make while in recruiting, we have gotten first pick.

Anyway, although I was worried we wouldn't be able to afford to live in NH due to what others told me, after doing some research, I was able to find a lot of very nice homes for rent for as low as 800-1300/mth. What I do not know is what the cost of utilities runs a month in an average home in NH. (I did see that not many homes seem to be all electric unfortunately :( )

Was wondering if anyone could just provide an average of what they spend a month on utilities and roughly the size of the house. We do not get to pick exact location within the state-that will be decided up to the Army so I can't narrow it down to which part of state even. Sorry :(

I am so excited about the possibility of moving to NH and really hope we get to move there even though it wouldnt be until the end of April.

I can't believe Fall is upon us. I haven't even began the stuff I wanted to get done during the Summer! The porch still need painting, the picnic table and chairs still need painting, the whole West side of my house needs to be painted (due to some construction work.) Trees need to be trimmed and/or cut down. My time is running out FAST!

Where the Hell did the summer go??????

[MA] questions on unemployment

Seeing as mass unemployment is up again and Im searching for work, I can't seem to find answers for these questions.

I had a company before , which I closed because my job was really using all my time. Can I reopen ?

If I open a new business , do I still get unemployment as long as I report in what I make ?

If I just do a doing business as license , do I need to pay unemployment ? If it is just me ?

Any info is great , unemployment just doesn't seem to have answers.
