Hampton - Norfolk Has been suspended and will hopefully resume in the spring of 2006. Elizabeth River Ferry (Operated by Hampton Roads Transit) HRT's Paddlewheel Ferry is a system of three 150-passenger paddle-wheel ferry boats, one of which is the world's first natural gas-powered pedestrian ferry. The Ferry travels between North Landing and High Street in Portsmouth and Downtown Norfolk at The Waterside. It's fast, economical and offers a panoram harbor view. The Ferry operates every 30 minutes, with 15-minute service at peak times on weekends. The Ferry is wheelchair accessible and allows boarding passengers to walk on with their bicycles. Tangier Island This passenger-only ferry service operates from Reedville to Tangier Island. White's Ferry Ferry service from Leesburg, Va. to Poolesville, Md. $3 one way, $5 round trip. Sunberry Ferry (no webpage) Located on Rt. 644, it crosses the Little Wicomico River. Hatton Ferry This is the site of one of the last two remaining poled ferries in the United States. This ferry is still in operation from mid April through mid October. One may still ride on this bygone relic free of charge on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM in season.
