·Should I turn off my modem?
·Can I use MSN DSL with Windows 95?
·How do I upgrade the Firmware version of the MSN DSL 1000 modem?
In general, DSL modems are designed to run constantly and you should not need to turn them off. This is why some models do not have a power button. You can turn off your modem when it's not in use for additional system security, but if you have a properly configured firewall, security may not be a concern.

No, Microsoft Windows® 95 does not support the USB interface. It is strongly suggested that you invest in a more recent version of Microsoft Windows®.

Open IE. In the address bar type '»https://signin.msn.com' After signing in with your MSN user id and password, the PC goes through a set up and configuration of the modem; updating it to the latest version firmware. To check the firmware version, you open IE again. In the address bar type '192.168.1.1'. Select Connection Status. This page will give you all sorts of information inclduing the version firmware you are using.
