The cause appears to be the DSL connection tool, and occurs when the computers are on any type of LAN.

One solution is to simply remove the folder the tool and remove the tool from the start menu. The folder is C:\Program Files\MSN\MSNIA and the Icon is in the Start Menu. Note: you must stop the tool if it is in the systray (right click and select exit), and reboot prior to removal of the MSNIA directory.

Finally, remove this folder from all computers in the LAN. Reboot each computer after removal of the tool.

There are several potential reasons. Try the following possible solutions:
•Check filters so that the PHONE port is connected to the device and the LINE
is connected to the wall jack.
•Make sure filters are installed on all devices that share the same phone
    line as your DSL service.
•Make sure you have the latest drivers for your hardware.
•Visit the Broadband Tweaks forum to make sure your computer is setup correctly to take advantage of broadband speeds.
•Make sure your modem and phone cords aren't near sources of EMI (Electromagnetic Interference). Such sources include speakers, surge protector, nearby computer cables, your monitor, and rotary devices (fan, drier, etc).

Even though I can log into MSN messenger? I have updated IE, scripting, all security patches, MSN to 6.1, Router Firmware, disabled all firewalls, etc...

Try chnaging MTU size to 1492 from your router settings. All access to SSL sites (such as American Express, Hotmail, Etc.) will be restored. May be due to a change in the way your ISP handles packets.

When you received your modem and MSN8 software, you should have also received filters for your phone lines. Installing these filters on each of your phone lines should resolve this problem.

As described in #4816, you have duplicate adapters causing this, but due to the equipment MSN uses and their network, there is no way around it. Sorry!

If you are running MSN 9.5 and the error says "The MSN Photo Server is currently unavailable for sharing your photos online" you can run the patch that MSN provides here and it should fix your problem.
