7. Extras

An alias simply serves as a different name for the same mailbox. E-mail aliases direct mail sent to one e-mail address to another address. It might be used by family members as long as they don't mind having their mail in the same mailbox.

What this does is give you another e-mail address for the same account, so you don't have to use your original account name as an e-mail address.

So, mail to an alias will be downloaded along with the regular mail into the same inbox, but you can arrange to have it sorted into separate boxes in your email program.

All incoming email is screened by SpamAssassin. Outgoing mail is not.
Mail that is forwarded is NOT checked by SpamAssassin.

The settings for spam checking are reached by clicking on "Anti Spam Settings" on the main mail page:

There are numerous options presented to fine-tune your spam alternatives.

Forwarding, meaning that mail received at your DSLR Mail address is automatically sent on to another external email address, is done by clicking on "edit" next to the mailbox you wish to forward on the main mail page.

NOTE: This has been changed so that only your Alias mailboxes may be forwarded. The "Forward" option will NOT appear when you click "edit" next to your primary mailbox.

On the next screen, you are offered a fill-in box to forward your email. Enter your info, then click on .
