Since its inception, DSLR Mail has been in the beta stage. A limit was set on how many could participate, (currently 2200) and that limit has been reached. From time to time dead accounts are purged and/or the limit is raised to allow new users, so stay tuned.
These are initial settings and may change as the system is inaugurated and tested.

Some aspects of this feature are still being worked out. For current settings, see /faq/5972 Among these are limits on mailbox size, amount of traffic (bandwidth), etc.
Since messages come encoded, this does not equate to maximum attachment size, it might be less. But since you can zip attachments, you maybe able to send more. ----------- Credit for this information to itsmethee for the question on this.
Webmail, the ability to send/receive your email from the DSLR account on the web, is not yet available, although it is listed as one of your choices. It is being considered and will be initiated if practical.

In the meantime, you can use the free www.mail2web.com by clicking on the Advanced Login link on the main page, specifying mail.dslr.net as the Server Name, xxxx@dslr.net as the User Id and xxxxx as the password. -- Thanks to GeekNJ for the added info.

In the main mail page: »/mail Click on the "EDIT" button associated with your main, POP3 account. On the next page, delete that mailbox. Doing so should close your mail account.
