The Minolta Dimage X is a Digital Camera for people on the go. It measures 3 1/4" wide x 2 3/4" high x 3/4" thick (smaller than a pack of cigarettes) and weighs about 5.5 ounces. It features a 2MP image sensor. It has a revolutionary 3x folding optical zoom built inside the camera body and it is therefore unobtrusive. It also has a 2x digital zoom. The 1.5" LCD screen is large enough to frame your image. There is also an optical viewfinder. I placed a large lanyard on mine and wear it around my neck when we go anywhere I can shoot pictures. It will also fit inside a shirt pocket. No more camera bags, extra film, lenses and batteries! If you feel the need to carry an extra battery or Secure Digital Memory Card it will fit into the watch pocket in your jeans or even your wallet.
The controls and menus are easy to use as this camera is basically a point and shoot with few manual adjustments. Because of its fast startup time (less than 2 seconds) it's a perfect camera for family outings. You won't miss a picture opportunity waiting for the camera to cycle. I highly recommend this camera for beginners due to it's ease of use. I have shot over 2000 pictures since the fall of 2002 and have no complaints.
