NOTE: This feature is available by default with the Ultimate or Unlimited Bundles. It can be added to the Basic Bundle for an additional charge. PrivacyGuard (press *11) is a feature that allows you to screen calls for which there is no Caller ID (CLI1) information, or whose CLI information has been blocked. Note that if there is a number (CLI), but the CALLER NAME shows as "private" or whatever, the call still rings through. See the Options Menu below. PrivacyGuard is similar to but different from the Call Treatment Call Block in Concierge, which is used to block calls with a CLI. When enabled through your phone line, any such caller will hear the following: The person you are calling does not accept unidentified calls. Your CallerID was not received. To enter an Access Code, press one (1), or to record your name so that your call can be announced, press two (2). •An Access Code is:
OR • Any number defined in the Selective Caller List (see below). •If the caller presses "1", they MUST then enter a valid Default Access Code OR Selective Caller Number (assuming you have given it to them). Only then will their call ring through with a Distinctive Ring to your TBB line. The NAME shown will be "PrivacyGuard" and the CLI shown will be a valid Access Code/Selective Caller Number they have entered. If you do not answer, the call will be transferred to VoiceMail. •If they press "2" and then record their name, your TBB line will ring with a Distinctive Ring. The NAME shown will be "PrivacyGuard" and the CLI shown will be "*". If you answer, their "NAME recording" will be announced, and you will be prompted to either:
•Tell TBB to announce to the caller that you are unavailable. •Transfer the call to VoiceMail. •Tell TBB to playback an announcement to the caller that you do not want to receive sales calls, and want to be placed on their Do-Not-Call list. NOTE: Callers who have Permanent Call Blocking on their phone line (cell, office) can sometimes activate the CallerID on a per call basis to bypass Privacy Guard. This can be accomplished in most cases by dialing *82 (or equivalent *code for the phone service provider) before dialing your TBB number (HINT: Store this sequence in a memory location for faster dialing). Options Menu Dial the PrivacyGuard star code (*11) to access the Options Menu.
•Enter a three (3) digit Access Code This is a generic 3 digit Default Access Code that you may want to provide in advance to some callers. •Hear the three (3) digit Access Code. •Add a number to the Selective Caller List (SCL). The Selective Caller List can contain multiple numbers of varying length to create additional Access Codes. You need to enter each number individually and provide it in advance to your selective callers. The maximum number of entries allowed in the list is currently unknown. 1CLI - Calling Line Id
