I got in on the 3 month special pricing, It came out to $12.66 a month for 3 months, and is now $23.39 a month, this is with all fees and taxes.
I have had no issues with the service, it has been land line quality. I have had no outages and the two times I talked to tech support I got in quick and talked to a person that spoke English and helped me very fast.
I have the Linksys - RT31P2 and it has worked well along with the wireless router I had in place already. I also had them port my number from AT&T and had no issues with that at all.
I would recommend the service. I do also have a cell phone, but use PhonePower when at home during daytime hours to save on my anytime cell phone units.

I was stuck in a year contract with my last VoIP provider who basically did not work for me. I had to eat a few months of my yearly contract and chose Phone Power to replace them. I got the first 3 months at $10/mo then $20/mo after that plus a couple of fees making it $12.61/$22.61 a month. There's a $15 shipping fee too. 1st bill was $27.61.
I have cable HSI (at 10/512 mbps by NYConnect thru Time Warners Manhattan NY system) and am monitored by BBR.
Signing up was easy. Set up was just plugging the wires in and turning it on. It worked! They have US based support from the west coast and have been reliable so far which is about 2 1/2 months.
Phone adapter used is the Grandstream HT 502.
I may even try pre-paying for a year to save a few extra bucks. That's $199.95 or $200 plus the fees of approx. $2.66/mo.
I am just happy I have a phone that rings when it's supposed to!
I hope these guys have their patents & agreements all laid out as I would like to keep these guys.

Simply put, it works. I have been yearning for a functional VoIP service since the demise of SR. Phone Power has been outstanding! The service has been rock solid since day one, with amazing voice quality.
Side note: I didn't rate the "tech support" section above simply because I have had no need to use it.

After SunRocket meltdown and brief experiment with TeleBandit (to save number), decided to give them a try based on positive reviews about ease of porting and quality of service on this forum.
Service was live and porting completed on the scheduled date. ATA was not shipped. Quickly replaced. Claimed sent to billing address. Silly excuse as billing is PO Box.
Service has been very reliable. Good experience with tech support. Lost service once, turns out to be a bad phone port. Configuration switched to other port solved problem.
Seems TOS changed recently without notification. When I signed up it was 2000 minutes for long distance with Local & Intra-lata not metered. That has changed to TOTAL of 2000 minutes. Definitely a poor value for money.
Also observed that it is now a free LEASED ATA. It used to be FREE ATA.
Just hate when providers sneak changes without notifying existing customers. Reminds one of Voicestick before Bruce's return.

It is extremely rare to find a superior product with a superior price and customer service. And to think I found this combination in a voip provider is nothing short of amazing.
My experience
I had SunRocket for 2 ½ years while only experiencing shaky service in the last 6 months of their existence. To be fair I will give you somewhat of a foundation from which I make a comparison.
SunRocket (6 months prior to going out of business)
Service Quality - 4. Reliability - 4. Customer Service - 2. Ease of Use - 3. Price 4.
I searched for a replacement. I needed to keep my existing number, which proved to be difficult task.
Following SunRockets demise, I decided to try two companies at the same time in the early spring of 2007 VoipYourLife and Voip.com.
VoipYourLife
Service Quality - 4. Reliability - 5. Customer Service - 4. Ease of Use - 3. Price 4.
I would have stayed with VoipYourLife, but they were unable to port my existing number (from SunRocket). Their customer service was pretty good worlds better than SunRocket and Voip.com.
Voip.com
Service Quality - 2. Reliability - 2. Customer Service - 1. Ease of Use - 3. Price 3.
Unfortunately, there isnt much I can say positive about my experience with Voip.com, other than their online Feature set is easy to use and understand. They were able to port my number, so I stayed with them for eight miserable months. I live in the Midwest and my overall service was never stable. Almost daily, I had dropped calls, calls that could not be made, and instances when only one of two parties could hear the other. I stayed because I was able to keep my number and the thought of having to pay the $30.00 cancellation fee gave me a bad taste in my mouth. If I could hold out for a year, the cancellation fee would be dropped. The straw that broke the camels back came when one of my co-workers called and were unable to keep a connection. Furthermore, I was unable to contact them at our company 800 number. I was forced to revert to my cell phone at times like this. Every once in a while I would attempt to contact Voip.coms support center for assistance. They were never able to resolve the troubles I was having. Half of the time they would give the notorious, please power off and on your voip modem and expect remarkable improvement there was never to be improvement with this company. I believe this company merely deals in numbers - give a customer what appears to be a shiny rock and we should be able to keep a small percentage without being thrown back in the ocean. Be ready to experience longer than normal hold times (in excess of 30 minutes) if you go this route, but I would rather be employed as a sand-shovel scooping clean-up artist in a parade following elephants.
PhonePower
Service Quality - 5. Reliability - 5. Customer Service - 5. Ease of Use - 5. Price 5.
Where do I start? This company has done something companies of all sorts could only strive for. They were able to port my existing number (from Voip.com) in two weeks. It only takes minutes to speak with a live, intelligent individual if you have a question. Oftentimes companies will align efforts with securing the sale, while neglecting those customers who have already purchased the product/service. The opposite should be true, but you rarely experience it. Want to? Call PhonePower and prepare to be amazed.
Here is what happened when I signed up. I needed some assistance with my Netgear Router, in order to make PhonePowers device work properly. I would bet that 95% of the competitors would have replied with, Well, you will need contact your router manufacturer for assistance with this issue. It sounds to me like a firewall problem. Please contact us back after this issue has been resolved. Sometimes routers need to be configured differently. Expect a few more phone calls and a couple hours of time to find resolution. It was PhonePowers turn. I was at work, so I shot off an email to their support email address. Less than three hours later, I got a call from a support technician. I felt like I had won the lottery. Why did I get this type of service? Did I have a relative working at the company who recognized my name? The only problem was that I was still at work and unable to effectively trouble-shoot with the tech. After I explained this to him, he suggested that he contact me after work. I told him I would be off in an hour, Would you be able to call back? He said, Sure. I will call you back in an hour. Im thinking yeah, right. Maybe Ill get a call back in a day or two (if I dont end up calling them back) and then Ill have to explain the whole situation to a new technician. I got out of work about twenty minutes late that day and my phone rang on my drive home. It was the SAME TECHNICIAN, asking if he had called at an opportune time. I apologized and laughed, not believing the service PhonePower was displaying. I was not at home, so he agreed to contact me in another fifteen minutes, which he did! We quickly worked through the situation and had a resolution in less than 10 minutes! Be aware, you too could get the best service possible, along with the best call clarity and dependability in the market.
My only concern is that if everyone starts to learn about the Best Kept Secret in voip history, demand will outweigh supply. Voip customers need most of you out there to continue with lackluster companies, so a few of us who do research can relax in a 5-star atmosphere of the PhonePower experience.

I switched from Vonage to Phone power. Numer transportation was easy, took over two weeks, but you were able to use their service as soon as you recive the telephone adapter. Setup was just as easy as Vonage, and the Phone quality is Well beyond what vonage was. NO QUALITY ISSUES WHAT SO EVER! Contacting technical support to setup my TA was short and easy, as someone answered the phone within a few minutes of calling. Within 5 minutes we were up and on our way. This service comes with More features than VONAGE. I specifically like the call blocking feature that allows you to block specific numbers, they get a bussy signal. Great feature to block out those pesky telemarketers who keep calling.
I am very happy with the price and the service. I am running this service with an 8 meg comcast connection. Nothing bad to report what so ever! If I find something then I will comeback with an update!

I read the reviews of another voip website and chose Phone Power. They've got a good deal with their $9.95/mo for the first 3 months, and no contract. So I figured the risk was minimal.
From order placement to making my first call was 48 hrs. Pretty fast to process the order, get me a number and ship me the hardware. The order system is pretty good about sending you emails on each step, including the UPS tracking number. Call quality is better than I experienced with Vonage. I like the call routing and call blocking features in the MyAccount portal.
I did contact support to ask if they support BYOD, since I would like to use my X-10 softphone. Support (US-based, yay!) answered pretty quickly, and told me it should be available by April. So far, smooth ride!

Good:
I want to really be able to "install-it-myself." I am marginally savvy and the whole thing didn't work initially but I must say that I used the "live chat" option at Phone Power and the technical support was beyond anything I have experienced in 10 years. Matt was awesome. It takes time to use this feature but he never hung up or left me out there. I knew he was there...diagnosing my problem, fixing my problem, and even using his own cell phone to confirm I had service. Outstanding, Matt!
Bad:
I called the Phone Power office during their "service hours" and initially got a voicemail to leave a message and return call.
Ugly:
The directions provided on the insert they sent with the router were horribly written. They need a professional technical writer to edit and make things "user friendly". My wife wrote manuals about how to drive submarines for the DOD. She had to make it work for guys that had never, ever been on a submarine before and did it. These professionals, not IT guys, should be writing instructions. Her name is Katharine Hill and her email addy is hillkatharine@hotmail.com if you would like to work with her. An example in the instructions provided is: in the address bar type »192.168.15.1. Couldn't get through. That last dot required a call to customer service to tell me the last dot was a "period" not a dot

The tech support is friendly and helpful - they even have online chat with a tech through their web portal now. Seems they are always adding some new feature. I think they have a good business model and look forward to their continued success.
Setup was instantaneous for me. I've had the service for about 5 months now. I had voIP with a local company and it didn't compare.
