While it's no cheaper than the others, LinkLine offers better Tech Support (especially for those of us fellow techies). They also tend to have a looser transfer policy regarding groups and torrents than the big boys.

The biggest plus is that money isn't being funnelled into the big pockets of ATT and/or Verizon, so support your local 3rd-party provider today.

I have had linkLine now for 8 1/2 years. My machines are on 24/7. I have experienced less than 48 hours of downtime during this time. Each time I had a problem it was always traced down to a GTE/Verizon issue.

I was referred to linkline from a friend that claims to have had great service in the past so i figured why not? My friend even boasted how a phone call got his connection up and running, so i took the dive... After several calls to the "sales" department (talking to a lady that had to ask about every question I had, and several "I'll have to have someone call you back") I finally got to order my service ordered, smooth sailing from here on out. Had my technician set everything up so when my connection was hooked up i was good to go, well that was the plan at least. After several calls of linkline stating that it wasn't anything on there connection (wait a moment, if I pay someone a fee every month for a connection isn't it there responsibility to make sure that I the customer am getting what I am paying for?) I paid my technician to come repair a "issue that was on my side" to have him sit down with me and show me graphs that the issue was not on my network but in fact was on linkline's connection. After going back and forth for over almost 2 months (approx. 6 1/2 weeks) was informed that the telephone company was the problem. Needless to say I have been spending less every month on a another connection and linklines connection as a back up now (which I have never had to use since the new connection). I realize that this may not be the case for everyone and recently was informed of this site to express my concerns, I will not recommend linkline to anyone as a result of this. I stated that I went off what a friend had recommended with this company, what I did not know is how much they would not take responsibility for there service. If it was the telephone company that was the issue then how come i never had issue one with my other connection that I found out is the same telephone company linkline uses to re-sell there services to me. Shame on you linkline for sweeping the dirt under the carpet and pointing the finger instead of taking care of your customers.

    - very UN-satisfied customer

    Hello,

I would very much like to look into the issues on your account to determine what LINKLINE did wrong in supporting your account. Please feel free to email me directly @ mhelton@linkline.com with your account information. The experience you speak of here is not what LINKLINE is all about and not something we tolerate internally here.

I got Linkline service about 2 years ago. I am just getting around to writing a review because I am thinking of leaving. I must say the connection has been reliable throughout the 2 years I have been a client. I had an issue with getting them to add a PTR to my static IP (bailed on it because $20 a month not worth it). I also moved my service from one address to another, was down for about 15 days (This was pretty much expected) My issue with the move was that I was charged $60 for the move AND I was charged for the FULL MONTH I was down!!! I would expect a credit for half the month, as would most SANE people. I called once to address the issue and spoke with a Marsha(sp?) she told me she would speak with the tech support department to verify and call me back, SHE NEVER DID and I NEVER RECIEVED a credit. I wasn't going to call again because it’s a waste of my time. So I have decided to look for another ISP. Again as far as a DSL provider goes they are fine, but I am really annoyed with not getting a credit for the month especially since they also charged me for doing the move itself!!!

I have had DSL service with Linkline Communications for 16 months now. I
am VERY pleased. I have had only a couple of problems in that time
(Verizon landline, burned out modem) and Linkline personnel are easy to
get a hold of and get the problem resolved quickly.
Today I was not able to get on line and called Linkline. I HAD A LIVE TECH
(BRIAN) ON THE PHONE WITH ME IN LESS THAN ONE MINUTE! AMAZING!!! He
checked a few things and said he would check Verizon’s line and get back
with me. He called back in about an hour. After some more questions we
determined that an update from ZoneAlarm had shut me down. Disabling, then
    updating ZoneAlarm solved the problem.
Within 2 minutes of getting off the phone with Brian, another Linkline
tech (Jeremy) called to make sure I was properly taken care of. He also
gave me some good advice regarding firewalls.
DOUBLE AMAZING!!!! Three live conversations with DSL techs within an
hour AND they really seemed to care. CAN I be dreaming??? This is unlike
any service I’ve had before. Who are these guys??? I tried them on a whim
because I was sick to death with Verizon and bad service and hour long waits
on the phone (then getting someone who I could barely understand and usually
    wasn’t helpful).
Bottom line, I don’t know who these guys are, BUT if you want great
dependable service at a very good price get Linkline DSL. You won’t be
    sorry.

I called LINKLINE support to check on DSL as I was just plain tired of giving my hard earned dollars to companies like ATT who just dont care about customers! They care about dollars and cents is all. Anyway, the sales person quickly let me know I could get DSL by switching to LINKLINE and what do you know, I could even have my own IP! So I switched, got my modem plugged it in and have been surfing happy ever since. I admit, I didnt agree with my initial billing but Marla in billing quickly straightened everything out. So far so good with this company. Glad I found them!

Our internet went down one day and we had them send a tech over to fix it. Jeremy came down and helped us fix the problem and he also assured me that we wouldnt get billed for the repair. They would even call often to check up on us to make sure that everything was running perfectly when we opened the ticket. Bottom line, Linkline has showed us that they could support our company and has gained our trust as our internet provider.

Just a quick note of appreciation for my DSL provider, Linkline.com.
We've been with them now since 2000 and there service is outstanding.
In terms of "uptime" vs. "downtime"... I think the best way to describe
their reliability is, bullet-proof. I can count on one hand the times
their service has been interupted and even then, they notified us in
advance, i.e. programmed maintenance. The few times I needed tech
support, they were prompt (no long wait times, if at all) and
professional. I can and do recommend them highly.

It has been such a pleasure doing business with Linkline. There is always a person (who speaks English) who is immediately responsive when I need HELP. There is not a maze of telephone prompts to get to a tech. After weeks (over a two month period) of telephone calls (often a 30+ minute wait and well over 30 hours on the phone) and conflicting advice from the imfamous Verizon I selected Linkline . WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

    My Other Reviews·LINKLINE
Just did a review on Linkline relating a long term relationship which overall was good however just ended badly due to Linkline's totally fumbling our account. This resulted in inadvertent cancellation of our web hosting account. After emailing Marsha Levy who I thought was handling our account problems relating to her how disappointed I was with the way things were being handled (Have not restored our web hosting after 2 weeks and numerous phone calls to Brandon Josh and AJ) I receive a email notifying us that our DSL account has been cancelled, even though I never requested cancellation. Not sure what I've done, other than to complain politely, to deserve the uncaring treatment our medical practice has received from Linkline over the past few weeks, It seems to me that Linkline customer service, which at one time was above the norm has slipped into mediocrity. I don't have the time or energy to pursue this matter so after 10 years with Linkline we will be moving to Verizon FIOS and Hostway for our web hosting.
