Replaced SR with Voice eclipse. Costs were good, reliability much better. Only a few burps here and there. However, having had a bad taste from SR, VE was pretty much doomed from day one. The first problem I had, inbound failure, I was all over them like stink on poop. But they had really good customer support that spoke English, 3 NOC's in the U.S. and was owned by U.S.Lec (a good sized lec). But there were not special. Features were the same as most other providers. Some didn't work well, like "find me" and "call blocking". Even if the person calling blocked their number, it rolled to voice mail so you ended up having to deal with them anyway. When inbound stopped working on the few times it did, it didn't say broke long. The PAP2 device was free (but has to be returned when you terminate the service at your cost) but there was a $50 "activation fee (which is now waved). No frills service, I would recommend them but canceling can be a little issue as they require a "written notice" as per their TOS however they do not say what form (email, snail mail, photo card or whatever) is needed but my recent experience, they don’t' want email, they want you to "phone it in". That's not written.. HELLOOO!

    My Other Reviews·ViaTalk
I had some issues with Vonage... I was unable to convince Tech Support Bombay that I needed a new PAP2 (old one hit by lightening). I had to move to another service in order to again have phone service. I came across VoiceEclipse in my search and called to inquire about their service. Tech Support is based in Chicago... a definite plus. All my questions were answered "YES!"

Can I cancel online? YES. (Tech support says, Nope. You have to send an email detailing why you want to cancel. No other way.)

Can I Fax with VoiceEclipse? YES (Tech support says, "Good luck with that. It won't work")

Do you have Caller ID w/ Name? YES (Tech support: Nope.)

Can I check my voicemail online? YES (In reality: Nope.)

What about a Network Unavailable number? Good idea... We'll work on it. (Tech support: Nope. And not anytime soon, either... that's for sure.)

The list grows further with each day. I was finally able to cancel after sending my request to multiple email addresses. Call quality was poor, tech support seemed as if they really didn't care one way or another... In short, a completely horrible experience. If you are looking to dive into the VoIP world, or switch your current carrier, seriously consider looking elsewhere. In my mind, a company that can't present information accurately (on both the web and through their sales staff) doesn't need my business.

    Not my experience

I went with VE becuase they were one of the few that could give me 2 lines which I need to keep family & biz seperate. The price is right and I have found tech support to be relativly helpful. I do get email re. my messages and I can review them and faxes from my email online, no problem. Only problem I have been having is that although I can hear fine on our phones, our voices are recieved garbled by our callers or the people we call. I am only just dealing with this with tech support now.
