I'm a network engineer, but haven't had much experience with VOIP. So I was skeptical. Not anymore! Good service, technical support was prompt when I asked a question. I have a fixed wireless, dynamic IP setup that's fast, so I don't have any bandwidth problems. My only problem is my cheap router (d-link 604) and the semi-cheap cable modem (isp provided the cable modem). Between the two of them they seem to drop a few packets now and then. But for the price, it's tolerable. THE cheapest pots line is Verizon (no other local providers here in northern Michigan) 14.99 before taxes, tarriffs, and the other rip offs, 25.00 after. BEWARE Ma Bell, when this technology gets even better than what is is, (and we all know it won't take long) you'll be left in the dust. So... after my rambling, if you have a reliable broadband connection, and a good router, give VoicePulse a try!

I've had voicepulse for about 3 months now. Call quality has been great. Any questions I had customer service answered email promptly. The best part is I'm saving about $40 a month vs my old verizon/mcs.

"Cheap Cisco ATA"
"WOW.. Low budget no frills service saves me $50 a month"

Website: Simple concise account management, not the greatest technical support site (Had to use google to find the page on configuring the X-Lite software
Ease of installation: Couldnt be easier for the ATA, plug in, open the firewall and go
Call quality: Fine when the nets not in use, I have to get a good QoS/ToS script running on my linux firewall to deal with the dropouts that are nothing to do with VoicePulse
Reliability: Its been there every time I've ever needed it..
tech support: Email only support, I understand the cost savings and now its running I appreciate them, but still a little frustrating to wait an hour to 12 for a response
Value for money: Can't be beat!
I've been using the service since December and because I use SDSL I can completely remove verizon from this house if I want to .. A great feeling

I really like this service because it's easy to use for a non-computer savvy person like me. I love the distinctive ringing feature, the telemarketer block, and especially the fact that I can keep the same number wherever I go. Plus the bills are inexpensive (a must for a college student)!!!

I signed up with Voicepulse in Oct 2003 after having been thru Vonage for a year, and then Packet8 for 6 months. I am looking for a good low-frills local access phone service, with a good local calling area for low money. Long-distance is not an issue as I can use various low-cost VoIP calling cards that suit my needs exactly. The 200 minutes allowed a month is perfect.
The email support is very good. I have an on-going issue with incoming calls having an echo when *I* talk, from Boston metro verizon lines.
These guys are the best.

Ordered on a friday night 12/12/03. Got phone number and account setup by Sunday morning the 14th. I received my equipment on the 16th. I started to test the phone and the first person I called told me, "wow you sound mad clear". Calls never appear to have any lag between talking.
Only problem I have is when browsing the web The voice on the phone when sent gets distorted, and with a 384kbit upstream cap, I dont get why this is happening, but maybe its just my network setup. Other then that, its a perfect service and a great value.
The only down side is that tech support can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 week to reply to questions. They also dont have a hotline for support, only able to communicate using email.
