Colorado Springs,El Paso,CO
$40 per month

"Good tech service, no long phone waits, static IP, 5 e-mail accounts, easy install"
"Neophyte techs, speeds all over the place, employees still T/S system"
"Good service but the advertised speeds are not there and sometimes doesn't work at all"

Services:

I got this service because I moved into a new sub-division and cable was not out here yet nor DSL. They are a wireless service now called Falcon Broadband. The techs who performed the install were real nice and good. After I got hooked up, I had constant problems for about a month and the techs thought it was localized to my computer. I found out after word the company was having problems with the Qwest servers and the Canopy system not synching correctly. Once that was cleared up speeds made a dramatic jump and remained fairly steady at around 1.2Mbps. I have the 1.5/512 service although it rarely gets exactly there.

I have no contract and I can easily call or drive directly to thier office to get help with the exception of nights and weekends. There tech support is responsive and quick but I have not really had any problems with my equipment. The only problem is that speeds are spotty and not consistent at all times, I am comparing to cable of course. Tonight when I ran a speed test I was getting around 230k down, not my 1.5. This is occuring more frequently as of late and I'm not sure if they are oversubscribing therefore narrowing the through put but I will keep with them because of the customer service. I really hate to have to go back to Adelphia so I will pray they keep tweaking the speeds for thier sake.

I am on the east side of Colorado Springs and the service was sold to me through Falcon Broadband, but I couldn't find them to review on this site.

This is a wireless service, however it isn't plagued with the problems that most of the wireless services have. Pings are good, I can play UT2k3 with the best of them. DL speed is good you can choose how fast you want to go depending on what you want to pay. Anywhere from 256k down/ 128up at 20$ a month to 2.5mb down / 512k up at 99$ a month. My plan is rated at 1.5mb down / 512k up and I regularly get 2mb DLs so they are above advertised rates.

I have had a few problems with the service but tecs were out here to fix it and service was top notch. I had my house built with a cat5 pre-wire and one was bad and they even got in my crawl space to fix it. My eithernet card broke they gave me one for free. No crappy phone operators... tecs come straight to your house and fix it no questions asked.

No contracts, I like the service so far, if it dosn't change then I will definately reccomend it to anyone within range of a tower.

In Monument Colorado (also available in Palmer Lake). I called and they were so helpful answering any questions that were not on their web-site. (That next day they were out testing the wireless signal and then I asked them if they would install, they agreed. Despite having a horrible domain name, they have their act together. The sales guy even said that they are building other networks in other states. I feel like these guys definately have what it takes. Simple billing, no games, great service.
