Wide open West provides the best service and support I have ever had with an ISP. The fact that I'm paying 12.00 dollars a month less than I used to pay Comcrap is better yet. The install was performed right on time by polite, competent techs and I was up and running in 30 minutes. I really don't have anything bad to say about WOW.

WOW was great. I was last at 6/1 Internet
Digital Cable, with 2 Standard DVRs and Starz package

I have an HD TV now but have not added any HD plans.
I have two digital DVR converters and 6000000/500000 service
I never seem to get the advertised download but I am still happy.
Around $112 now - that 2nd DVR is like $15 a month.
I use VoIP with VOIPo.com right now and it works great with WOW.
They can usually improve your contract if you call and ask nice;
especially if you want to add something!

The technician did come a little late, but they all have (Comcast never came the first time.)
Comcast and Ameritech was $150.00 a month.(no local toll, but add long distance.)
WOW and Vonage is around $77.00 a month.(500 minutes long distance and no local toll.)
Vonage has better coverage than Ameritech did too. (Bye-bye Canton phone number -- hello Livonia number.)

Have dumped SBC Ameritech back in February.
Using WOW with »www.vonage.com VoIP phone successfully.
Blaster worm has WOW blocking port 69 TFTP which interferes
with service an could cause loss of dial tone if you change
settings though.
Had some loss of sync lately -- but overall satisfied.

I am using Ultra these days and a Digital tv package for just under $90.
I am now commiting my VoIP service over from Vonage to a new
remarkable company: »www.BroadVoxDirect.com using two
lines of their Telephone Adaptor (TA) to get two phone lines.
$19.95 each I get Unlimited calling all 50 States and Canada just like
I had with Vonage for more money (they got somewhat cheaper though)
I also get a free Virtual number. People between my two lines can call
local to the Livonia MI area, and the virtuals allow local calling to me in
Jacksonville FL, and Toronto ONT.
Some think Cable Internet is too unreliable for trusting your phones to
it. I just know I've had almost no down-time and save tons on my phone
bill. It is so cheap, I decided two unlimited phone lines are just plain
convenient. One of the things that makes it so reliable is WideOpenWest!

I ordered the hookup early this year (2/09) there abouts. I bundled Phone/Cable and
8.0 MBPS IP. Speed of internet is very good. An ARRIN smart modem and a cable box
was installed along with a cable line. Got the whole deal for ~110 mo. Which is half what
I was paying for AT&T DSL at 3.0 MBPS and this was without long distance
phone service and cable. This deal allowed me to drop DISH network and
the AT&T landline. In these difficult financial times , this was th only intelligent
option. After some initial startup troubles which were minor in scope the service
came up nicely. Customer service is quite good also . I would not hesitate to recommend
this provider. This is an update to my review of WOW. It's been about 5 months and I
am still quite happy with WOW internet/phone/cable. During this time I have had 1 outage
lasting less then 4 hours. This was rectified quickly and the phone support people knew
about it. I am not upset about this temporary outage though speed is not as it was before
the outage. It's getting better day by day speedwise. I still think WOW is great.

WOW was installed on 07/05/2007.
11/23/2007 WOW has had one service outage sence it was installed & that was
from 2:AM to 8:AM which was a pain. Our voip service was out for that time too.
05/06/2008 WOW has been down sence 5:AM today. VoIP on backup system
Sprint. WOW was down for 13 hours today first outage for this year. Everything
is now back to normal now.
05/26/2009 We upgraded our wow connection too 15/2 we will see how thing
work out??? Also there was a price decrease with the speed upgrade. This is
a first.
09/10/2009 So far so good, but we never see the full 2Mb upload speed it hangs
out around 1.4Mb & we have peeked out at 16.4Mb/1.9Mb only once in four
months. We do get over 15Mb here in the states 97% of the time no matter
what time we do a speedtest. Most speedtest to overseas are all over the map
& are just fun to do.
10/08/2009 They we down tonight for 35 minutes & this is the first time this year.
We are still getting 15.9Mb down & 2.0Mb up so we just hit the 2Mb mark for the
first time

I have had WOW Internet/Phone/Cable for over a year now. I pay $99 a month for all three.
I switched from Comcast because I had many problems with my Internet service going down or performing at modem speeds. I had Comcast technicians come in at least 5 times to look into it and none were able to fix it. A couple, expressed frustration with the techs at the NOC not being much help in helping diagnose / fix the issues.
The WOW install was performed on time as scheduled, within a week from my order.
The funny part was that the WOW technician immediately found the problem I had with Comcast. It seems squirrels had been chewing on the cable from the pole to my home. So bad that there was quite a bit of the wire exposed.
After a year, I have had no down time (Knock on wood). I lie, maybe once I month, it goes down for less than 5 minutes, what seems to be a cable modem reboot. No longer than that.
So far I am very pleased with the service and I am glad I switched. I recommended it to my mother and girlfriend. They also seem to be trouble free so far (believe me I would have heard about it if it was not).

Started out with basic cable and internet connection, but throughout the years have been adding voip, hd digital, static IP's, and increased bandwidth.
For the most part flawless. Had issue early on with the static IP changing, but was finally resolved.
Last call to customer service was to add HD digital and increase bandwidth. Was able to accomplish this AND reduce my monthly billings by $30.00

I made the switch from Comcast to WOW! about six months ago after Comcast started racking up the prices. It was a good switch, and I am more than happy with WOW. I do enjoy OnDemand from time to time, and I do have to say it's better than Comcast, since you can buy a movie and have it for 24 hours, Comcast used to do that, but than stopped. You get free movies too if you do have the Starz package or any other movie channel package. The internet speeds are fine for me, I always get 2mbps down and over 1mbps up. Also, I have never had any problems with the phone/internet/cable service, and customer service is always very helpful. Lastly, the prices are good for what you get, I always feel like you're getting more for less.
----UPDATE----
The service has still been very stable since I switched to WOW almost a year ago. The phone service is top notch than what I was used to with Comcast (no dropped calls or anything of that sort). Internet service is still pretty good also, decent speeds, and I can game online with no problem with lag or losing a connection, they even upgraded my internet for free a couple months ago. Cable has went out on a few occasions, but that usually had something to do with WOW fixing something on their end. All-in-all, I am still very happy with the service they provide.
----UPDATE---
Sadly, I have moved out of the Oakland county area just recently and WOW! doesn't service the area I'm in now.

I dropped down my cable to the lowest speed and with the phone is is $61.61 a month after tax, title, and destination charges. Very stable service with the occasional minor outage.
When I went to drop the speed I was told I couldn't get the price. Just told them to keep it and I'd call Comcast. That was the magic word to get the new customer rate.
I'm not using it as much as I used to, but want to keep my phone number and until Magic Jack allows for number transfers I'll be keeping it up and running.

15mbps/2mb is easily the fastest residential cable in Columbus. Really consistent and reliable.

Switched to AT&T Uverse U200 + 18Max internet. Biggest mistake of my life internet wise (terrible for gaming) and terrible picture quality on the TV... Did get my 30 day money back guarentee ($222) Plus I got a check (promo offer that caused me to switch) in the mail for $250. So I was basically paid 250$ to use free, terrible internet + tv for a little over a month.

Tech coming out today (3rd time) to try to resolve my internet issues I've had for a few months now.... As you can see from my test history here, »/testhistory/1594596/6cbc6 I've had up and down results (Okay result happening between 8am-11am usually) followed by fail. Hopefully this visit fixes things as this has been the only black eye in about a full year of great service.
At least I am paying for 8mb/1mb and "getting" 15/2 free upgrade for 12 months from WOW (Went with 8mb/1mb after coming back from ATT)

Fantastic service. I never was one that suffered from the broadband drought in Naperville. I started with Flashcom, when DSL first became available, then moved to Telocity and then to Earthlink. Finally, after waiting for so long, I got WOW cable literally the day it was available to the general public in Naperville. Also, I got the higher 1.5 Mb tier the day it was available as well. Other than for minor glitches in the beginning, my connects have been rock solid at fantastic speeds.
Install went with a little bit of a hitch, because he main installer was a jerk. He ended up getting fired over our situation, but his helper was stellar and ended up coming to our house the next day on his own to fix up everything.
WOW cable modem service is so good, that I can't imagine any cable provider in this area could be better. Particularly not at this price. I have cable TV and Internet, so the pricing is very good.
Anyway, WOW is really great.
UPDATE:
Switched to the Ultra service. The extra speed is very nice. Is it worth the extra $15.00? I'm not convinced that it is, particularly in light of Comcast possibly upping their standard tier.
Customer service also was average to below average in their handling of my particular issue regarding modem rental fees. I was told they wouldn't charge me one, but when I got the bill, there it was. Had a HELL of a time getting it taken off. And, even then, it was done grudgingly. I have one of their highest level/cost services (digital +2 pay channels + Ultra HSD) and have been an original subscriber since the Americast days and they treat me like crap--as if I'm stealing from them by asking them to waive the modem rental fee.
All in all, they are fine. Just a few disappointments. I will consider Comcast in the future depending on price/features/etc. that each company offers in the near future.
UPDATE 2
Have not seen the much vaunted speed increase, although a few others in the area have. Maybe by March? Regardless, even the reported WOW speed increase is dissapointing. WOW increased the download, but did not change the upload. So, as of this writing, we have become also-rans to Comcast's 6mb/768kb tier.
Unlike Comcast, WOW does not offer Video-On-Demand either.
Comcast has been running many promotions in the area. I presently have a discount with WOW for my service, which includes Ultra Internet and Digital Cable with two premiums. Comcast is running a special that beats WOW's pricing by a little in addition to the faster uploads and VOD. I was willing to add WOW Phone to the mix even if they would drop the price to meet Comcast. Not beat it--just meet it (even though WOW is less featured). No go. In fact, the CSR and his supervisor were pretty adamant about NOT doing it. Maybe once my discount expires I'll give it another shot. Otherwise I'll switch to Comcast.
I think the CSRs and WOW in general are becoming quite what one had always thought of Comcast. Certainly no better and somewhat worse. WOW keeps raising prices, does not provide the same featuires as Comcast, and has the arrogant attitude to go with it all. I am not happy.
Once my discount expires with WOW (June-July), I plan on leaving the service for Comcast. Who would have ever thought it. If my reviews feel like a downward spiral, that's what they are, just simply reflecting WOW's downward spiral in my books.
If you are considering a cable provider, take a long hard look at Comcast. They may very well be the better deal.
UPDATE - 4/19/2008
I switched back to WOW again after leaving Comcast about a month ago. Not for any other reason other than for the fact that the Scietific Atlanta boxes can take an external drive for their DVR storage. Comcast's Moto boxes will not.
VOD for WOW sucks basically. Not even close to Comcast's in terms of content. Reliable service though and better pricing.
Update 10/29/2008
The new internet speeds are nice. For no extra, I get pretty close to Comcast speeds, but without the Powerboost. Price is okay. Again, though, the ability to expand the SA box with WOW versus not being able to do so in this area with the Mot Comcast boxes keeps me in the WOW fold.
The cable part is okay. VOD is kind of pathetic compared to Comcast and the lack of HD channels is annoying as well.
Update 5/14/2009
Left WOW for Comcast's DOCSIS 3.0 50/10 internet speeds. It is fast. I'll miss the expandability of the SA DVR, but I got the newer MOT DCX3400 cable box which has a 250GB drive. That and the fact that Comcast On-Demand has so much content, including shows that we regularly watch, that space isn't that bog of an issue.
WOW number portability is a pain. It takes them 7 days to do it. What a crock of crap that is.
WOW is not bad, but no great.
