I Know This Is Going To Sound Like A Sales Pitch BUT Please Read On.Being An Excite@Home Customer For 6 Years I Know Speed.(3500/128 All Day Long)I Was Going To Be Very Hard To Please.After Attbi Cut Speeds In Half And Didn't Change My Prices In Dec I Had To Change My Ways.I Never Knew How Important My Connection Was Until After I Went Through Outages And Modem Swaps And Long Nights On Hold With Attbi, They Got Me Going But The Speeds Are Just A Joke! And Theres No Fixing That I Am Told? I Called Around And Nobody Had Service In My Area(Great Monopoly).Except A Call To My Cell Phone Provider . The Salesman Rich ( Rico) Came Out That Day And Spent At Least An Hour With Me At My Home Going Over The In And Outs Of The Dsl Packages CT Tele Was Offering .I Decided On 1.5 1.5 G.sdsl . So 2 Weeks Later The Guys From SNET Came Over And Upgraded My Pole At My Home.And The Installer From Ct Tele Gave Me A Nice New Netopia Router . I Was In !!! The Speeds Were 1260 Up And Down Very Fast Upload (WOW) But Down Was Not As Fast As I Hoped So After Some Bridge Tap Removal With Help From Snet We Changed My Service To ASDL ( Another Nice Router) All The While Dealing With Tech Support At Ct Tele,Kevin,Carl,Dave Greg,Jeff,Ed,Eric and Bill.I Never Waited More Than 2 Minutes To Speak With Any Of Them !!! ( Talk About Support ) I Am Now Going 85 Times Faster Than A 56k Modem And Loving It .(4250/437) These Guys Are Wizards And You Can Tell They Love What They Do ! I Think The Professionalism Should Not Go Unnoticed And If Anyone Needs A Secure High Speed Connection They Should Call These Guys And Feel Like A Person Not A Number.Like I Said This Sounds Like A Sales Pitch But Its Not Just Finally A Customer That Is Very Happy With A Service That Someone Really Cares About And Will Help At Any Time I Will Never Trust My Data With Another Provider........They Have Raised The Bar And I Do Not Think It Will Be Touched By Anyone........I Am So Happy That I Just Had To Write The Truth On This Whole Deal Thanks Guys ........................................Any Comments To Nasdaqkeith01@Hotmail.com

I have the 384/128 with 5 pop e-mail and 10mb of web space, for $79/mo. The customer equipment is an external router with hardware firewall which is a nice feature (I ran the port scan from the DSLR Tools page and it didnt find any potential problems). The router is also monitored 24/7 from CT Tel's Network Operations Center and I was told they take care of any firmware updates which is a nice touch. There were a few minor glitchs in getting the DSL installed but the tech people were patient and willing to work with me to get things set-up the way I wanted them. (needed some special configurations for on-line games). One last point is that CT Tel states in their terms of service: "NETWORK AVAILABILITY: CTTEL guarantees that the CTTELNet service will be available 99.9% as calculated on a calendar month basis." I like the idea of not having outages.
Update: Well, I can say that CT Tel has great tech support. I lost my connection around 1am, called the NOC (gotta like that 24/7 support) and they scheduled a tech to come out when I wanted one there. The tech was here a little early and he figured out the router had died, 15 minutes later I was back up and running

We moved our accounting office from Greenwich to Stamford on Jan. 1, it was a rush job, and we could not afford to be down for an extended period of time. CT Tel was there to save us. The DSL line was up and running ahead of schedule. The service was great. Not only did we get DSL service but they also set us up with a next generation phone system from Cisco that is 100% IP based. Now not only our data but also our phone traffic is carried by the DSL line! Great Job CT Tel!

Got the service a few weeks ago for my CT offices. Great service and connectivity. 1/3 price of similar services from SNET and added bonus, dont have to deal with SNET.
