After a harrowing experience with Internet America, I ordered service with OnRamp Access for DSL. From the start, I had nothing but wonderful results with this company. The salesperson was very helpful, and while not very technical, was able to find the answers to those questions I posed that she could not answer. I went with their Business Solution, but I was looking for 3 bridged IP addresses. The salesperson put me in touch with one of their senior technical people and they quickly decided that what I wanted was easy for them to do. It didn't match exactly to any of their "standard" DSL types, but they were more than willing to work with me to get me exactly what I wanted. The circuit was installed and ready about 2 weeks after I ordered. I worked with one of their tech-support people to bring the line up (had some minor DHCP issues) and was ready to go. The tech-support was very knowledgeable and --much to my surprise-- had direct access to all of their servers and routers. This made it a breeze for him to troubleshoot the DHCP problem and get it fixed quickly. My Email was already setup and I was up and running within about 30 minutes of the circuit being installed. 3 DHCP-assigned IP addresses, 1.5/128 speed, 2 email addresses on a virus-scan email server (with more available if I want them) for about $50 a month...half of what I was paying at Internet America for MUCH better service. On the technical side, I have had some issues with packet loss (5 to 7% max) at times but it's never been consistent enough for me to bother calling up and trying to get it fixed. I highly recommend OnRamp for anyone in the Dallas/Austin area. They are one of the big-boys, but the more personal service and competitive pricing makes all the difference.
