    We had a 384k/384k business DSL that ran fine for a while until it went down for over 2 weeks. It took many phone calls to Local ISP pushing them to get results from NAS. NAS finally got Verizon to come out and fix the wire they snipped working on someone else's connection 2 weeks early. Local ISP tried to accommodate us with a Static IP using a modem dialup for our mail server but they couldn’t figure out the correct routing to make it work. All corporate mail was down for 2 weeks. We couldn’t take the risk of anymore down time, so we canceled service and went with someone else and everything has been working fine since. During our DSL service with Local ISP their DNS failed and timed out many times, querying from within their network and outside. When we called they would always say everything is working fine. We were forced go around Local ISP and use another providers DNS that proved more reliable. We never really did any speed tests on the DSL line from Local ISP, but the line always seems a bit slow for 384k.

    NAS was most likely the hold back on getting this line fixed, but we have no idea how hard Local ISP was pushing them to rectify the problem. The guys at Local ISP seemed like they were trying to help us out and were very nice on the phone.
