    Update 9/15/06

I'm finally back with DSL again from AT&T/SBC. It's been about a year since I moved to an area that was on the fringe of DSL service since there was only a CO 15,000+ feet away (speeds were horrible).

Since then I noticed that an RT was being installed down the street from me 1,000-2,000 feet away from my house. I looked on AT&T's website and it showed that I could order any speed package I wanted. To make sure that I indeed was able to order the higher speeds I posted in the AT&T Direct forum and with the help of Weaknees, I was able to order the Elite dynamic package with a 4100 modem. My order went live today to connect today and the speeds are amazing! I can finally cancel the cable internet service that I have with WOW.

    Update 3/31/05

A few days ago I re-rated my contract for another year at the promotional price of $19.95. Thanks to this site and the SBC forum, I was able to accomplish this very easily.

    Update 10/18/04,

Just renewed my contract for another year at the promotional price. I was thinking of upgrading my service, but I'm not sure whether the next tier up would really be worth it.

    Update 5/15/04,

Nothing new to report, just the same rock solid service and support for SBC. I think I've only had one outage in six months. I'll definitely be renewing my contract shortly for another year at $26.95 or upgrading my plan if it is possible.

    Update 11/12/2003,

I just wanted to update my review because of the recent speed upgrades SBC has implemented. Since the upgrade I've went from 1304/109 to 1304/220 (1536/128-256 plan). I didn't think the service could get any better than the more recent upgrade when I signed up for another year. This is great! Keep up the great work SBC and once again hats off to the great techs in the forums!

    Update 8/8/2003,

Today, I just got the upgrade to the 1536/128 plan last night with help from the SBC techs here in the forum. My speed is what is to be expected, right around 1300 down and 109 up. Definitely loving it.

I ordered SBC/Ameritech DSL last year with the dynamic 768/160 plan. I've had it for a little over a year now with no complaints. I just signed up for another year's contract at $29.95 a month. With considerable distance between me and the CO, the speeds are excellent and extremely stable unlike my cable subscriber neighbors. No complaints here except trying to deal with billing support. Update, the only issue I'm working on right now is that it seems that my download speed seems to be still capped at 768 (getting speeds of around 650 using speed tests), but I'm working on trying to get that resolved right now. Other than that everything is A O.K.
