Service: 6 Mbps / 512 Kbps
Since the merger with AT&T, the service has dropped off big time. What used to be a very solid service has turned almost into what Adelphia Cable was, in which you can barely load up pages. Their tech support phone line is absolutely worthless as none of the tech people seem to know anything about their own system and refuse to acknowledge a problem on their end.
Seriously, they'd rather send out a tech person to your house and waste both the companies time and money and the customers time rather than just acknowledging there is a problem on their side and they are in the process of fixing it. My past 2 experiences sum this up, as each time the tech guy would come out and say "Your line stats are amazing, but we've been having equipment issues since *insert date* which is when it says your issues started. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do to help you."
My advice: If you have a choice between only AT&T and Time Warner, check with people in your neighborhood about both and make sure TW isn't on Adelphia's old system. If they are on Adelphia's old system, go with AT&T, but if it's Time Warner on their own equipment, go TW. If you have an alternative for DSL such as Covad/Speakeasy or Windstream, I'd go with either one of them over AT&T anyday now. It's a shame that the FCC screwed everyone so badly when they allowed AT&T to buy up the competition.
