Well, I have to say this has been an excellent connection. Not one failure since install day! What little trouble I have had on the Internet has been due to intermediate router failures on the net (Not Verizon).
The Setup here is VZ Modem connected to a Westell router, feeding 2 FreeBSD boxes.

This has been a very stable relaible (and heavily used) connection. NO outages since install in 04.
Note: My connection is used for raw Inet access only, I do not use ANY Verizon "services", so I have no idea about their DNS, email, USENET, or their tech support since I have never used any; I use all external corporate services.

No technical complaints. Not a single outage. It's always there and working fine. My only complaint is the billing. I have to chase them every time they increase my rates.

Again, absolutely no downtime. The Billing has gotten WORSE. Rate changes, then endless calls to get it fixed, followed by a "courtesy" refund .... then OK for a couple of months, then wham again!
It's like dealing with the Mafia. If I had an alternative, I would switch.
