    My Other Reviews·Comcast
We have Fairpoint here in Kingston NH, just recently having taken over from verizon. But all calls to Fairpoint (voice or DSL) support end up with someone answering as Verizon. So I can safely assume verizon is still running the core for Fairpoint.

Anyway moved in here at girlfriends house 1 year ago. She has had verizon phone and DSL for 3 years now. Both have been constantly flakey. A month ago we lost DSL sync totally, voice line had lots of noise. 2 techs came out and 4 hours later (after they split DSL line to separate wires, fixed things out on 2 poles on street) DSL workingt fine (768kbs). After a couple weeks we decided now that line was ok, we'd go for higher DSL speed. Was told 1.5mbs was available for us, but not 3mbs. They turned it up later that day and the problems began. Constant loss of sync with modem (we tried a couple), connection drops out EVERY time it rains, basically usless DSL. Had 2 more techs out for 4+ hours last week. Turns out that 1. line was never set up for DSL (according to an engineer tech spoke with) 3 yrs ago and shouldn't have even worked; 2. yellow/black wires in house still connected to phones so DSL line wasn't really split from voice and 3. we probably are too far out for 1.5. Techs left with it working but they didn't think it would last. Next day got call from Fairpoint saying line gauge is too small for 1.5 on your street so speed is going back to 768kbs. They never knew any of this before? Sales rep on phone checked and said line was ok for 1.5.

So avoid Fairpoint/Verizon. We're going with Comcast for HSI.

I recently lost service for the day. Tech support fessed up that I was paying for 3.0 Mbps but only receiving around 1.5. I'm paying $46/month for this!

Customer service is terrible, constantly waiting and then the help is not even in the states. More and more lately I've not been able to log onto my verizon account from work and get my email, the webpage goes down.

    They're becoming a joke!!!
