Signed up for Gte/Verizon when they first offered dial-up internet, mid 90's and moved to dsl about 6 months after it became available here in the late 90's.
Never really had any problems except one time getting a lightning damaged dsl/router replacement took a week before they could send a service guy out who loaned me his test unit until the 'its in the mail one finally arrived a week or so later.
