I've had this 1.5/384 DSL service since we ordered our home phone line back in 2004. I've had zero trouble with the local loop service for more than 3 years now.
Back in 2004 Verizon was shipping these ugly Westel DSL modems. I've since replaced it with a smaller, less power hungry SpeedStream that came off of a PacBell DSL line and had 0 problems setting it up.
It's not cheap and the $/kbps sure makes cable look better and better. I have two other choices: FiOS (just deployed here) and TW Roadrunner service. I'll probably ditch the DSL for Roadrunner soon. FiOS service comes with contract terms that make it less of an impulse buy.

FIOS all the way. | |
