When I actually had their regular DSL service. My review back then in 2004 was all positive. Now it is a nightmare.I loved this company. Had great service when I had land line with them. Now I have been so frustrated I have wrote a complaint against them to Better Business Bea rue. Whatever I went through with them I wrote that exactly below.

This company promises services that it cannot deliver. I used to be their residential phone service and DSL service customer. Around August 2006 I decided to cancel their phone service and switch to the DSL Dry Loop service they said they provided my address. This became a nightmare for me. They gave me about 15 days to activate my service. I was told my service would be active on August 10, 2006. That never happened the account was in pending status. I had to talk to their customer service for almost a month and finally in beginning of September I canceled the order. I decided to switch to Cable which is pretty expensive compared to what they offer. Then again around March 2007 I decided to give Verizon another try. I signed up for their service again. Dry Loop DSL with a new account. Waited 15 days. Had technician come to my APT to setup the service. I started getting the service was very happy with the speed and all. About three days later my service got disconnected. Called them back to find out what happened. They said the order was canceled? Why? no one gave me a direct answer. They said they did not know. Anyways they placed a new order for me and as always again a 15 days delay. About a week later the order was mysteriously canceled. Called them back and decided to just cancel the order. My friend ordered their DSL service around October and told me to give them another chance. He did have some problems with the technician not showing up the day they were suppose to. But he is very happy with their service. Anyway on November 21, 2007 and ordered their Dry Loop service again. I was told this time that service would be activated around 5 business days. The plan was for $39.99 with one year contract. 3Mbps down 768kbps up. I received an e-mail stating my service would be ready by December 03, 2007. On November 30, 2007 I received an e-mail stating my service is active and that I could start using the Internet. Also billing started on the same day. I tried to go online but I couldn't. So on December 01, 2007 I called the technical department and they told me they have no information about my order and that I should call back on Monday December 03, 2007 to speak to the billing department. Today December 03, 2007. I called billing department to check on the status of my order. I was transferred to techincal department where the rep said that my account is active. I told them that I am not getting any DSL signals on my line as of yet. They transfered me to the land line department stating that I need to speak to them. Land line phone service department does not know why I was transfered to them since I am a Dry Loop customer. So I was transfered back to Tech support. Like this I have juggled between them since morning. Finally around 3pm they agreed to send me a technician on December 04, 2007 I don't know why. But they thing the problem is in my phone jack or their line. So basically signing up for their service is a hell lot of problem and I still don't know if I will have their service. I am basically trying to save money and get something I use and pay for it rather then have something so expensive which I rarely use. I hope Verizon can get their acts straightened out since apparently their staff is very inadequate to perform it's duties. They are giving us customers a lot of headaches. If you can't provide us service just let us know. Instead of making use wait for days and days and still not giving us service.

    Dry loop

I had dry loop and it worked great until I got a residential phone line and they cut off my DSL for a week. I now have my DSL back and a analog phone line. The DSL is now pure crap with speeds running from 34kb to 365kb and the speed is all over the place. You can't win with Verizon

    Verizon tech support.

I have pretty much the same issues as dlevine said in his comments. Their customer service as far as i know especially the Tech support which is probably level 1 is horrible. Not that they speak with an Indian accent is any of my problem. They problem is that they don'n understand anything. Takes a while to let them know. When I was not getting any DSL signals and my DSL light was blinking(means line is dead). The tech support was telling me to clear my internet explorer cookies.
