    This is a running review as i already have adelphia but have been waiting for dsl....the order is placed..will keep posted on how things go...

    UPDATE: 05/20/04 VZ has been rock steady and excellent. Had some weird routing for a bit but nothing to write home about. Adelphia came out with a 24.95 package of 3/384 and i went to sign up. After a week no modem..turns out the order never made it through. The special offer then went to 27.95/month for a year. I went to sign up for it. two days after that VZ announced their upstream upgrade. Adelphia almost simultaneously downgraded their max to 256. I called Adelphia to cancel my order...no need they lost that one too. Staying with VZ.

    UPDATE: 10/06/03Just got the modem and self-install kit...westell 2200 router..this is the last thing i need as i runa commercial package for security and connectivity..luckily a few very quick calls to verizon got me the username and pass to log into the router...the router will not let me do anything until my circuit is active..so far so good..:)

    UPDATE: 10/07/03 Line went active..but the install was a mess..wound up with verzion's tech support to do everything manually..My tech support experience so far with VZ has been top notch...DSL is working fine now using my di-604 router however with Astaro Security Linux it bombs..weird.....will test it for a month then decide wether or not to keep the cable or the dsl..one must go..:)

    UPDATE 10/08/03 So far the nightmare continues..the connection is solid but if i switch between the dsl and the cable i have to jump through hops..sometimes i have to hard reset hte dsl modem and sometimes i don't. I am reformatting my machine to rmeove all the PPPOE adapters and associated crud becuase they are screwing with my games..causing some apps to grab the virtual 192.x.x.x address instead of hte 151.x.x.x address they are supposed to go to. I tried hacking the registry to remove everything to no avail. I have hunted hte hdd for the files and apparently they are hiding somewhere..at this point it is faster for me to format my c: partition and start over. This is nuts. DSL is good(as long as everything in the self-install works the way it should) for those who do not have advanced networks or need network flexibility. Tech support has been outstanding though...will talk to Adlephia about price matching..if they do then dsl goes away..either way dsl is probably not long for this house. Further updates as i meander through DSL hell

    UPDATE 10/8/03: wlel it is about 9pm EST and finally have htings working..using my old dlink di-604 i have pppoe and dsl working great. Too bad i had to reformat my c partition to get rid of the VZ crudware but heck that's what cd-rom automatic restoring images are for eh?.....taking hte cmodem back friday..sticking with dsl.

    UPDATE: 11/21/04 I have been crusing on VZ DSL for a while now. Got the 384 free upgrade and am looking to do the 3/768 meg upgrade very soon. I am consitently seeing 380 of my 384. So far so good.

    UPDATE: 06/04/05 I have been enjoying hte free upgrade to 3/768. Conneciton has been rock solid aside from some wiring issues on my end. This serivce has been excellent.

    UPDATE: 01/30/2008 I have cancelled my dsl service. I had been getting a solid 3.0/750 but now am getting a solid 2.3/750. When i called VZ tech support i was told be glad you ahve 85% and was promptly hung up on. I called comcast and i am gettign hsi and my basic cable for $66/month. I am now getting a solid 6/1.5 with comcast.
