I've waited for about 3 months now before doing a review. I thought I would give it some time and see how things would shake out. In the beginning it was mighty frustrating. First my original order was lost and another one had to be made. Numerous Service Ready Dates came and went without any service. Finally it became DSL Service Active. My service has been pretty reliable since then. I suffered a little with inconsistent mail service, both sending and receiving. For the most part I'm pretty happy with it. My plan was PPPoE/Winpoet 640/90 and I get 500/82 pretty consistent. The bottom line is it sure beats dial up.
Updated 4/3/02-- Well, I have had the service for well over a year now I'm still happy with it. About a month ago my service was upgraded form 640/90 to the new base of 768/128. Both upload and download were done at the same time and I get a steady 730/134. The reliability of the service has been good, before and after the speed bump. I have no regrets and am happy with the service.
UPDATE: 1/26/03: Since my last update the service has been rock solid. I get ~93% of my advertised download speed, can't complain about that.
UPDATE: 9/24/03: On 4/29/03, I called to inquire about getting the upgrade on the speed to 1500/128 for the lowered price of $34.95. Told I was qualified since I'm well within the 12000 ft for the new speed. Was told I would have the upgrade in 5-7 business days. When I still didn't have the new speeds (~10 days after confirmation) I called in to check the status. Was told that Provisioning kicked out my request because I don't have DSL on the line??? This was after having the service 2+ years. They said the order would have to be placed manually back into the system. This went on and on, I would call in and be told it's being worked on, etc. On 5/20/03, talked to billing and they had a billing supervisor check the database and I was scheduled for the upgrade that day but if there was a backlog it could be delayed. I was told to call in the next day (5/21) if I didn't get it. Didn't get it so I called in. After being transferred between numerous departments, I was told that my service was scheduled to be canceled and that I had to then submit a brand new order to get new service. I could not believe all of this. It was a nightmare. That same day I called Presidential Appeals to file a complaint. How could a simple request for a speed increase end with my account being canceled? On 5/22/03, I received a call from a Tech in Presidential Appeals and found that she was able to get the cancellation stopped and my speed was also increased. She stayed on the line with me while she spoke with billing so they could reinstate my original userid and password (the cancellation process was well under way). This lady from Appeals was a life saver, had she not intervened when she did, maybe I would still be trying to get a new DSL service. This whole episode has left a very bad taste with me. They have to many departments, none of the databases are in sync with each other. This was one unbelievable experience. I wouldn't believe this could happen if I hadn't gone through it.
UPDATE: 2/12/2007 - Nothing new to really add. My service remains very good, my speeds constantly fall within what I expect for 3000/768. Overall I'm happy with the service.
