i had been a covad customer for about 5 years. 8/1 service with static ip. was very reliable, issues maybe once every 12-16 months. had average about 7 down, .75 up.
sometimes issues during hard rains, which are frequent here in miami.
then last december, chronic problems, intermittent service. last incident was about a month ago, had at&t and megapath techs out together.
they just couldn't guarantee service to me that's reliable. not sure what happened, since the entire area was upgraded by AT&T a year ago.
i have the tech reports in writing saying the service should not be continued at my location. they moved me down a bit in service for reliability issues, to 6/1
i figured i would deal with issue later. tried to get my bill reduced to 6/1 service, since i was getting like 5/.5 and why pay for higher service that doesn't delibver.
but service person said i would need to renew for another 2 years. or, i could cancel but still locked into remaining 4 months of my contract.
so i just dumped them outright. good luck trying to get me to pay anything more. account is in a business name, so no problems there.
went to Atlantic Broadband. AWESOME! 60 mb/5 mb, static IP, $149/month.
