    My Other Reviews·Cogeco Cable
All i will say is Bell Sympatico is better than what i had before speeds are around 3332 kbps down 395 kbps up . Better than dialup.

Would of went with Rogers since i just went with their phone service but DSL wasn't available in my area from them.

Cogeco was my third choice but i made myself a promise i would never use them ever again (long story).

At a 60GB cap and the price since no other package was available to me in my area i guess one can say i am happy with what i have.

    Why Not Teksavvy?

Teksavvy has a footprint everywhere Bell Canada does, with
200 gb caps instead of 60 gb.

Yeah well with all that i had to pay for with Teksavvy such as:

    External Modem: None Required $0.00
    Number of Filters needed: 2 ($6.99/Filter) $13.98
Ship Modem and Filters: ($10) $10.00
    IP Required: 0 ($4/IP/month) $0.00
Additional IP Blocks: None $0.00 $0.00
    Unlimited Dialup: No $0.00
    Additional Email Accounts: ($1/account/month) $0.00
DSL Activation: $0.00 (One time fee) $0.00

I'm better off with Bell Sympatico price wise.

The filters and shipping are one time charges...?

    Re: Why Not Teksavvy?

That's not the point when i got Bell Sympatico i was not charged for any filters or shipping. All Bell did was send me my startup kit and i did everything myself. If they charge me later on my first bill then i under stand that, Tekksavy wants me to pay for a modem up front plus filters and all that other stuff right there and then which worked out to around $150 (this was arund the first time i check).

Look i am not saying Tekksavy isn't better or as good as Bell god no,but $150 up front.

    Re: Why Not Teksavvy?

And what mistake will that be, that i am sticking with a company that so far hasn't done anything to make me want to change or go to another company for internet service? Please tell me one good reason why i should even go with or take anything you say as nothing more than trash talk over Bell. Like i said i haven't had any problems with them and see no reason to change to another isp.

    Re: Why Not Teksavvy?

Teksavvy offers REAL unlimited no cap packages for cheaper and better value than any Bell Package, for the same if not better steady connection.

plus if you didn't want to be throttled with various traffic ( not just p2p ) .. teksavvy has enabled MLPPP so you may get around it and get your full advertised speed.

You can use any modem with Teksavvy (or rather, with ANY DSL providers). You'll be able to find the Speedtouch 516 at $50 if you look for it.
Caneris have even cheaper modems here:»www.caneris.com/Hardware and their filters are only $3.

In the long run, being with a 3rd party ISP will be much more profitable.

hi, you do not have to buy their 100$ modem. I bought mine 2wire w/ 4 port router + wireless for 28$ shipping included from canries. They also sell spitters+filters for like 2-3$! W/ very cheap cheap cheap shipping. And this is all one time.... think about how much u'll pay for bell's crappy modem... 2$/month.

Hope ur good at math bud.

    Yet

Sympatico is generally is a reliable company until they rip you off that is...as in my case.
As you (hopefully) probably have heard, there are many bitter people here over getting ripped off or being charged for absolutely no reason. Then later, Bell turn their back on you and say, "its your fault!" Er...yeah.
Anyways, other than possibility of error and you do not have family of 3 and up, your probably fine with whatever service your getting at probably $40 dollars a month.
    But let's be smart here...
On a long run, you save money and you keep the modem, filter, etc. As of now, you own nothing but service you may or may not receive.
Its your choice...I know I made mine.

    Bell sucks

Whilst I understand completely both the pro and con points of view, I have been back with Bell for almost 2 yr and been happy with them. I left Cogeco because their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I had everything with them and as of today will complete the break by going satellite.
When they told me I would have to wait 3 days to get service restored (construction in area knocked out phone, tv and internet), not once, but tiwce, I had enough.
I am not happy with Bell's cap changes, but seeing as I start max12 today, for less than I paid for 7mbps, and the cap is 50GB, I don't mind.
