Was offered 3.0 Mbps DSL on Aug 29 by Local ATT tech. Sent online order on Sept 2. 2008. notified that line was active on Sept 5. - after many many telephone and "Chat" contacts the equipment arrived on Oct 2, and finally Gateway accepted Sync on Oct 3, Original Speed: 10-3 2:45 pm Dallas
Download Speed: 1708 kbps (213.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 419 kbps (52.4 KB/sec transfer rate) - and still the speeds are the same. NO IMPROVEMENTS.
From the start info was " there is a problem with the account" and everybody said "We shall correct that now". finally on 10-2, we found a tech that stated it was a "Line Maintenance Problem" and you will be online about "Noon" tomorrow... and Oct 2 about 11:45 the Gateway did sync. After have the same speeds, I did contact "ATT-Chat-assistance" and ask why my speeds were only 1.7 Mbps when I was paying for 3.0 Mbps.. was informed it takes 10 days to get your line upto speed. speed offered was 3.0Mbps/512Kbps @ $30.00 a month. Equipment send to me was Gateway by 2Wire Model 2701 HG-B - firmware was updated online after ititial setup and activation via ATT.
10-15- Called today and checked why friend who was shipped equipment on Aug 26, and informed Line activation was on Aug 29. still had blinking red lite... Support informed her-They did not have a request to activate her line since her equipment had never been shipped. _I installed on Oct 2. and called for line activation Oct 3....
