In March of 2012 I moved to Lincoln. Much like many other places in Nebraska Time Warner Cable is really the only option. Lincoln is a bit more fortunate in that there are other options but not many.
I decided to give them another chance and went with the 30 MBS download 5 MBS upload tier of cable. Total cost, including a monthly fee for "modem rental" (which I found humorous) is $52.50. The installation process went smoothly, the tech I had did a great job, was very friendly, showed up on time, and unfortunately for him had a ton of work. To make matters worse we had a major storm system rolling in at the same time but he didn't bat an eye and got the job done quickly. There was an installation fee but it was removed from my initial bill.
The service itself is acceptable for price, and while occasionally congested causing some major speed drops, it gets the job done. As far as I can tell there is no throttling on any applications or traffic types and obviously no monthly caps. No packet loss, or anything like that.
Ultimately it isn't the worst service I've had, nor is it the best but for the price it works just fine.
