"it works. pretty quick when the node isn't saturated by neighbors"
"there is serious slowdowns in my neighborhood when all the kids are home"
"if it's all that you can get, it's better than dial-up"

i am using PTD through Service Electric Cable of NJ. their techs are mostly morons, but there is a rare occasion that you get a knowledgeable one if you call about the same problem enough.

for the most part, it's OK but connection drops out in storms (not PTD, but SECTVNJ's fault). i usually get 8000-9000 down, 800-900 up. when the neighbors are all online, it drops to 4000 down, 300 up.

i'm just riding this out until Verizon actually gets around to wiring us people in the woods. damn---WE NEED FIOS UP HERE!!!

    Verizon?

I live in Wantage and we are Embarq territory.

I don't think FiOS is coming there in my lifetime, although with all the people moving in from bergen county they may as well bring the FiOS with them.

i'm extreme southern Sussex---1 block out of West Milford----everyone that comes here says "i didn't know Stockholm went this far south" LOL. fortunately, i AM in Verizon's territory. not that it means much---i haven't seen any mention of my CO being wired for Fios in any of the posts/articles/un-redacted .PDF's i've read. oh well---when a newer technology than fios arrives, we might JUST be getting DSL here..............
