Well, as you may have figured out (if you read my review on Northland), I now have a fairly well paying job, so I got myself hooked back up to the Zipp fiber optic system. Needless to say, it is awesome. Incidentally, so is the provider I got it from (Spectrum Communications). They had to run a Cat5 cable from the fiber mux mounted on the apartments, over to the wall of my living room, and then run it inside and mount a jack on the wall. They sold me a nice Wireless-G Buffalo router ($60), which they had pre-programmed for their system. All together, it took about two hours for the install.
This is my first day back on the Zipp network, but apparently they made some significant changes. My speed ended up being 24/3 megabits, which I wish would have been 6+ on the upload (even if the download dropped to 10+), since my main reason for getting it, was to have super fast uploads on my nightly backups. All in all, it still is a huge boost over the cable, for only twice the price (mind you, that is with the cable TV and Internet bundled).
All in all, this has been a very good experience.
