(ratings below consensus)

In the last year and a half I have installed 8 new UVerse accounts in my region, and the only bad things I have to say about the service aren't really all that bad comparatively to the service.

1)Customer cannot do a self install, and as a result techs tend to be a bit uncooperative with a homeowners and/or their assigned Network Administrator.

2)The on-screen caller ID feature does not work yet (at least in my area).

3)Certain TV Channels Cannot be recorded if you use a/v, svid or component cables.

4)Lastly as the image shows, and I've seen this done at all but 1 of my installs, improper installation of cat 5-e cable.

The 2Wire RG's that are currently in use have proven to be reliable, and I've yet to encounter a faulty unit, only bad configuration by the tech so far.

    What's wrong with it?

That connection shown in your picture is the analog phone connection which does not need the twists in Cat5e for data loss prevention. Getting a RJ-11 connector to fit over the jacket of a cat 5 cable is nearly impossible. How does that make the connection inappropriately installed?

    Re: What's wrong with it?

Last I checked it was just good business practice to use the appropriate wire in the first place rather than cobble something together. I know I wouldn't do something like that unless it was only intended to be used temporarily, VERY temporarily, if at all.
