I upgraded to dish last month from Comcast, because I was tired of the lack of quality from Comcast analog signal. I complained to Comcast a couple of times because of my poor signal quality, and their response was "upgrade to or digital service" which costs a great deal more than the analog service, and has equipment rental fees.
the neatest thing I found about dish was the ability to have two TVs tuning independent channels using one STB. That along with the lack of rental fee for the equipment sealed the deal for me.
The installer was quite professional and was even kind enough to pull a string down through the wall along with the cable for the Sat, so that I could pull an Ethernet cable later. He also took the time to talk to me about my setup (I use SageTV to tune the box and distribute my TV) so that he could set everything up the way I needed it.
I would recommend dish to anyone looking to save money and still get an expanded channel lineup.
