My name is Kevin. I have been using InReach for a few years, and had always been satisfied with their ahead-of-the-pack services (not surprising, since they are an ISP for other ISPs).
In order to have simultaneous phone and Internet, I had ordered a second line through Pacific Bell. But, for what I was actually getting, the extra fees were prohibitive. I realized I could get DSL at a similar price from Pacific Bell, or from InReach for slightly more ($69 a month at the time). I decided to order through InReach because I had already experienced their reliability.
In a few weeks, two Covad representatives came as scheduled to wire my connection, install my Efficient Networks DSL modem, and give me the info needed to set up my Macintosh. A few days later, Nikki, the DSL coordinator at InReach, contacted me personally to make sure all was working well and that I was satisfied with my connection.
The 384/144 ASDL connection performs six times faster than my former 56k modem, and one-fourth the speed of my T1 connection at work. By adding a $30 Ethernet router and PC MacLAN software, I can also share files and the DSL line with my fiance's Windows 98-based notebook. And InReach just reduced their fees to $49 a month, even though I now pay on a month-to-month basis!
All-in-all, a very smooth transition - I am quite content. The connection definitely satisfies my needs today, and I know from experience that InReach can and will support any upgrades in the future.
