    Edit: I bought. The g1 about a month ago. The battery life was bad at first but got better with time. In tampa. The 3g network goes south on i-75 to about apollo beach. Gone completely by sun city center. Not very far south. I am staying in a dead spot now so I use wifi to use data as edge doesn't work. (They have no clue) the g1 has very good edge speeds. 3g is killer on it. Speed tests vary from 650 kbps to 1200 kbps. Coverage in chicagos west suburbs and city seems very good.

    I also use a 3g data card bought by stelera wireless. Same speeds. I use the vpn total vpn internet on both my g1 and data card. I am very pleased with tmobile 3g.
