Value for money:

I've been with Electronic Box since November 2005. I ordered and paid on a Friday, and my PPPoE login was active the Monday after. Prior to that I've spent a few hours trading posts with Diskace(E-box representative on DSLR forums) and reading what others have to say about Electronic Box.

Being an avid gamer, I would preferably like to have the lowest latency possible. Electronic Box has a very impressive network. The speed always maxes out my line(3008/800 sync), and the pings are always low. On average, ping times are lower than Sympatico's.

Also, the mere fact that Electronic Box is based in Montreal means I will benefit from having a ATM router(or something) in my local area. That means no more being routed to NY or Chicago to reach other servers. That was probably the biggest factor in my decision.

I have had no issues with Electronic Box since I've got it in November. In fact, in January, I've signed a contract for a year, paid $99 for the Gnet BB0062 modem, and a static IP. They shipped the Gnet BB0062 via an express courier. I had gotten it a day after I ordered it.

    I pay $34.95(3mbit) + $5(static IP) + taxes for the first 3 months, after that it's $39.95(DSL) + $5(static IP) + $6.74(GST and PST taxes) for a total of $51.70.

It might seem expensive but think of the features I get:

High quality multi-homed bandwidth (Sympatico is only single-homed)
    Static IP
Knowledgable technical support - Although I haven't used the tech support much, these guys know what they're talking about. Not drones like Sympatico
Web hosting - I have 150MB webhosting with php, perl, mysql, FTP, etc.
Email - I have 5 email accounts, and the pop and SMTP servers have been very reliable. They also offer IMAP.
Great DNS servers - When you ping 7-8ms to your DNS servers that are frequently updated, life is good.

Overall, the service has been extremely good, and I will continue to use Electronic Box. They have been superb.

[edit] In January, we had some problems with our phone line. ElectronicBox sent a technician who connected the modem at the demarc and replaced the wire going outside the house. In the process, I managed to fry my modem, and ElectronicBox kindly lent us one of their test modems until the new one arrived. Never seen that service anywhere else. A Plus!
