Comcast's switch to encrypted QAM for all but the basic channels meant that I needed to use boxes and scrap my MythTV system. As long as I had to change, I checked out Fios and it was a much better deal.
I ended up getting 20/5 internet, MR-DVR, and a HD box for $20/month less that the comparable comcast offering.
Picture quality is very good and the internet speed is good. Happy so far.
