FIOS just became available to order around the end of March, I ordered and got an install date in the first week of April (after much frustration with the online ordering system I finally got the order to go through). Installation took about 2.5 - 3 hours and went by smoothly, the installer was very knowledgeable and friendly. I originally tried ordering triple play but my order was never going through so I stopped trying and just ordered TV + 15/15 Internet, so much for the promotional gift
The connection has been excellent so far. I have 15/15 and test out around 14.7/14.7 on fast test servers, any time of the day or night. I ping my favorite game server at 11-12ms constant, at all times. With cable my ping to the same game server was 15-20ms normally and at night would spike up to an unplayable range due to network congestion.
The supplied Actiontec router isn't bad, but isn't the best either. If you are a heavy torrent user then you might want to run Ethernet to the ONT and configure your own router (Actiontec still needed for VOD / STB data if you have TV).... I currently use the supplied Actiontec via MOCA, but may run Ethernet to ONT in the future.
Test result as of 04-23-08:
Download speed: 14742296 bps Upload speed: 14690728 bps Quality of service: 99 % Download test type: socket Upload test type: socket Maximum download pause: 19 ms Average download pause: 1 ms Minimum round trip time to server: 13 ms Average round trip time to server: 13 ms
