April 24, 2007: Just ordered it. It is scheduled for installation on Friday April 27th. They say it will take 4 to 6 hours. I have a 20/5 for $39.95 for 6 months then it will bump up to $49.95 (which is what I am paying for Comcast).
There is a onetime $19 fee they are charging for connecting (Profit fee?).
My town signed the TV agreement last night and should be released to us soon. That will get me an additional discount of $5 plus 1 free $5 digital box.
If I had Verizon Wireless and put them all on one bill there would be another $10 in savings.
I have a plywood board on place for the install already set up near where it will enter the house.
I will get some install pix and update.

April 25, 2007: My wife called me at work at 1:00 PM to tell me that Verizon was installing the fiber line to the house. It is an over head line and they have coiled it at the side of the house. I will get photos when I get home. -----------------------------------
April 26, 2007 Got the call at 7:30 PM confirming that they would be at my house at 1:00PM tomorrow. Wow.......1:00 PM when they told me 8:00 AM when I ordered.
She said that Verizon has a lot of issues with getting the scheduling right and that they have had a lot of complaints. I took off a day for a 4-6 hour install at 8:00 AM. Now we are talking a 4 to 6 hour install starting at 1:00 PM. At 5:00 PM they are going to be out of here. ----------------------------------
April 27, 2007 9:30 AM - Guess who appeared in the driveway? You guessed it. Verizon. Two techs came in and wiped their feet (raining again) and I brought them down to the cellar where they were pleasantly surprised that I had everything (even a big mounting board) ready for them.
They were very nice and knowledgeable and were completed at 10:45 AM. Which I am not supposed to tell anyone. I should also not tell anyone that there is an extra battery backup that I got.
--------------------------------
Side note: Although they did not require me to install that back board, I did it and it makes the install go that much quicker.
The board is 36" x 24" and as you can see it has room to spare. I may mount the router to the board but haven't decided. I would recommend that a board 36" x 18" is all that one would need.
