I'm a single, light user, who can easily do with 10 gigs. I use Teksavvy's "Lite" service (512 kbits down 512 kbits up) at $24.95/month. Options are 10 gigs/month via Peer1 (low latency) or unlimited bandwidth (via higher-latency peering). At 512 kbits, surfing is just like 5 megabits, except for very graphics-heavy sites. I have no problems with internet radio (Live365.com), not even with 96 or 128 kbit streams. I obviously don't do P2P or Netflix downloads.
Rogers and Bell offer similar lowspeed options, but cap them at 2 gigs, which is ridiculous. Even I break 2 gigs a month. Rogers'/Bell's next level up, with higher caps, cost more per month than Teksavvy's 5 megabit service.
I don't have any experience with their response to service problems... because I haven't had any problems with their service.
