I have been a DSL user in Canada for the past five years because it suits my needs better than cable. During my vists to this website I noticed that several employees from Teksavvy (henceforth TSI) were providing punter support on the fora here and that they explained TSI's plans and future. I was happily surprised at this sort of service and interaction and from the reviews I read I decided my next ISP has to be TSI.
So far the service has been splendid. There has been a rate increase as of january 1st 2008 for those on the unlimited plan, such as myself, but I was told that this was the only means to keep the plan in existence. I must say I do not mind paying more if it gives me a truly unlimited, no nonsense, no throttling internet connection, such as I have now.
Apart from one outage over the last four months which lasted a few minutes, the connection has been rock steady. The speeds I obtain are exactly as those advertised, even during peak hours. I have not received any slowdowns, even when there were reportedly problems on TSI's end.
I have only had to make two calls to customer service and each time the staff was friendly and professional. The lack of calls I had to make is an indicator to the quality of service this ISP provides.
The TSI group that posts on the DSLR fora include the company's CEO and other senior staff members. They keep us punters in the loop about ongoing modifications or additions to their internet structure and what sort of service we can expect in the future. This kind of interaction with punters is unheard of and much appreciated because it facilitates awareness and respect from both ends. It is this commitment and honesty in the TSI mentality that makes it popular on this website and with me.
In conclusion, TSI came highly recommended and I want to spread the word: TSI is the best ISP in Canada. Full stop!
