I had Wildblue for exactly one year. Installation was smooth, the installer was great, and the service was faster than dial-up.
The connection was fairly good unless there were any external forces involved...dropped connection due to wind, rain, snow, ice, birds, small children...you name it...
When my modem failed four days prior to the end of my contract, tech support quickly diagnosed the problem, but still insisted that a tech needed to come to the house to verify the results of their troubleshooting, and that it was going too cost me $95 for the house call. When I complained that we already knew what the problem was and that there was no reason for me to pay $95 to replace a modem that was already covered under their protection plan I was given the run-around.
To make a long story short, I waited out the last four days of my contract, and canceled the service...
I have Alltel Axess now, and am fairly happy.
