I ordered Time Warner Cable's Digital Starter Pack at the advertised rate of $89.95 a month for one year, to save money on my existing POTS line with Frontier telephone. The port took over two weeks and did not happen as expected on the in service date given, but was quickly remedied the same day with one phone call. Call quality is on par with my former POTS. A later issue with Caller ID not populating to the phones was traced to faulty wiring in my home; make sure your house wiring is 100% if you have similar problems.
UPDATE 4/14/09: My contract was up January 2009, and sure enough they raised my price up to $39.95 a month. I have since downgraded to their "tri-state" package which includes unlimited calling to NY/NJ/CT numbers only for $29.95 a month plus taxes and fees.
UPDATE 10/16/09: The DSLR bot nudges me to update yet again. It's been a great ride, but I've jumped ship and canceled Digital Phone for a competing, non-cableco VOIP service. The savings was too great to pass up.
