I bought a linksys phone modem from wal-mart for $50, it came with everything i needed... Very easy to install the hardware... Starting the account and activation was very easy, the activation fee was the only thing i paid up front because the first month was free... The call quality sounds pretty much like my nextel cell phone (or thats what it reminds me of)... I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me... I have had no downtime other than my internet downtime, but I have gotten voicemail and my phone didn't ring?? So far so good... I would definately recommend this service to anyone that uses their home phone as a secondary phone for the obvious reasons (power outages, internet issues, etc)..
