"$14.95 for 500 minutes is PLENTY for my homeline. I never use more than 300"
"The LOUSY US GOVT keeps adding charges! All inclusive 2004 = $16.94, today = $18.89"
"Best Bang for the buck local & LD landline there is. Now if I can just KILL the GOVT!"

Vonage is the best. I tried the other VOIPS, but they all SUCKED! The OTHERS had the following, take your pick: * bad sound quality * dropped calls * over-billing, double billing! * TS spoke every language BUT English * Kept raising prices, PLUS the GOVT BS!
VONAGE HAS NOT RAISED PRICES EVEN THOUGH THEY INCREASED QUALITY The hookup was simple, got the modem in 1 day and TS was there to help if needed.
The FCC recently mandated that VoIP providers, including Vonage, are required to contribute to the Federal Universal Service Fund (USF). Vonage is committed to complying with this mandate from the FCC. Accordingly, a 5.40% Federal Universal Service Fee will be added to your bill. Vonage does not profit nor benefit in any way from this contribution to the USF. This charge is passed directly to the United States government.
If it was not for the USSA, I would still be paying $14.95 plus $1.99 in TOTAL! VONAGE has NOT raised prices even though their IPO flopped. I will stay with them for good. VONAGE is the best VOIP and I hope they put ATT out of their misery! If you want a GREAT deal and a couple of FREE MONTHS, just email me at neuralgasm@yahoo.com and I will hook you up!

| Huh??? Did you just not listen to what he said?
It's not Vonage raising prices, it's the FCC regulating them now. Would you like Vonage just to charge only Taxes? 31.00 a months is NOTHING. Jeez man, people complain about EVERY LITTLE THING. Even if the price was 5.00 a month, you would STILL complain.

| Cost Question So when you say $18 a month, is that total out of pocket expense, or is there additional charges beyond that (taxes & such) ? I'm seriously considering Vonage (or a VOIP carrier to replace my expensive telco), but am uncertain of additional charges that are implied to VOIP vs 'standard landline' phone services. | |

The Charge from Vonage is $14.95, the GOV brings it up to $18.89 which is still what it is as of today for 500 minutes of local/LD in North America and Toll Free numbers do NOT COUNT against the 500 mins. Between my cell and Vonage I never go over on either system, and I use Vonage for my business number. Also all calls to other Vonagers are also free, forever, for as long as you talk. I have converted almost all of my friends to Vonage and many of my customers. They have a great referall program. Vonage is the best VOIP carrier out there today, and I have tried them all. Sunrocket, Lingo, and the others all had lousy connections, LOTS of downtime and other connection problems. Vonage has been up 100% since 2003 when I joined.
And so the moral of this story is; Never cross and angel with an ass Never treat the shiny one to ice cream cones Never pinch a sweaty mean cops ass. -- The world holds two classes of men: intelligent men without religion, and religious men without intelligence.
