The number transfer took nearly 4 months and probably would have taken longer if I had not been on their case nearly every day.

Once the number transfer was done, I was refunded for the months the number should have been active AND the service has worked flawlessly.

If you are talking on the phone, you will need to not be using your broadband connection for anything else or the packet loss will make your conversation impossible to understand.

I like the service because I'm not paying over $50 like the cable and phone companies demand and my phone works perfectly.

Update 07Aug24: I've been pretty happy with the service since the initial install glitches have been solved. Great product, great price.

Update 17Apr08: Vonage continues to provide reliable, inexpensive service. I don't really even think about it much anymore.

    bandwidth

if you think you cant use your internet connection for voip and internet you should do a bandwidth test and check yor speed. if its too low that is your isp's fault, not the voip provider.

    Re: bandwidth

yea man, I just got Vonage and was on a call for over an hour and had DU Meter running. I am uploading a file at 5kb and it never jumped over 8kb on the meter. Vonage does not use hardly any upload at all. So its your ISP messing with your connection.
